Now that the Christmas decorations are put away and our house is back in order, well maybe not in order but we are getting there. It is time to bust out the reds, pinks and hearts! Hello lover, it is almost Valentine’s Day.
Over the years I have shared that I love door wreaths, especially making my own. I have a great Vintage Picture Frame Valentine’s Door Wreath that I love but I wanted to try something a little different this year, so I got creative with some old playing cards.
Create A Valentine’s Day Door Wreath
Just like all of my other DIY tutorials, this one, I promise, is super easy for anyone to create!
Playing Card Valentine’s Day Wreath
Materials Needed To Make This Valentine’s Day Wreath
Scissors
Playing Cards (hearts only)
Glue Gun/Glue Sticks
Decorative Tassels
Easy Directions To Create A Playing Card Valentine’s Day Wreath
1. Cut foam board into heart shaped frame. This was the hardest part of this wreath. The foam board is a bit hard to cut, you might need a knife but the great part about this is that the frame does not have to be perfect. Simply get a nice heart shape and you will be great.
2. Using the hot glue gun, glue playing cards (face side up) onto the frame. I set all of my cards out on the frame first to get an idea of the layout. Also, for the size of my wreath I need 2 decks of cards to fill in the whole frame.
3. Once all of the cards are glued to the foam board, let dry.
4. Using the hot glue gun, glue the tassels to the back of the heart, also create a ribbon hanger and glue that to the back of the heart.
5. To keep those items secure on the back, hot glue an extra playing card over them.
6. Once the hot glue is dry you can hang the wreath. So fun!!
I love the way this wreath turned out. It is so cute and festive. Not only would this wreath be a great option for Valentine’s Day but would also be perfect for an Alice in Wonderland or Queen of Hearts party! Simple but perfect!

Wreaths are really lovely to add as decoration for your home during the different events and holidays that we observe! I think this is really adorable, the playing cards are perfect for Valentine's day! Definitely something that I'd enjoy making.
Oh how creative! I love how simple and easy this is to create. I would probably go ahead and add maybe some glitter on the hearts and outline them in black to make it pop.
Such a fun idea, nice and simple to do too. My daughter could get involved in this one no problem and she loves anything to do with hearts! Might have to purchase a new pack of cards though as I might get in trouble with Husband otherwise, haha!
This is such a cute and simple idea. I usually don't do much decorating for Valentine's Day. However, after seeing this cute tutorial I may have to come up with something for the boys to make.
I have never been one to much decorate for Valentine's Day, however, this wreath is something that I could easily tackle. Not to mention, it's an activity I can get the kids involved in. You're right, it looks super easy and not overly time consuming which are my favorite kind of crafts.
Your pretty Valentine's wreath makes me smile a million times over. How creative to use the cards. My husband is traveling this week and I'm going to ask my grandson if he's like to make one with me. It would be a fun surprise for a weary traveler when he gets home. x
Oh wow, that's a really cool idea. We happen to have a lot of playing cards. Maybe we can do something for the mantle and our main door. Thanks for sharing.
I enjoy crafty ideas and this wreath is definitely creative! I usually put out a wreath I've made each season. For instance, I have a straw wreath with fabric leaves and little scarecrows on it for fall. My winter wreath is an artificial pine wreath with snow-related ornaments and decor. I should make a special one for February, since my hubby's birthday is on the 9th, our anniversary is on the 11th, and of course, Valentine's Day is on the 14th!
This cards wreath looks super cute and perfect decoration for Valentine's Day! Thanks for sharing the DIY with us!
I don't decorate much for any holiday but this wreath is one I'd proudly display. You did a great job crafting it.
What a fun project! I bet my girls would love to help me with this! Thank you for sharing.
