Every year American Girl introduces a new doll to add to their growing collection and name her the Girl of the Year. For 2019 we meet Blaire Wilson. From the moment I started reading about Blaire I knew she was a perfect personality for Teagan to learn from. Last year we fell in love with American Girl’s Luciana Vega. Not only was she super stylish but her story was focused on STEM learning. This year I feel like Blaire is a perfect addition to our bloggy family.
Who Is Blaire Wilson?
Blaire is growing up on her family’s sustainable farm and B&B in upstate NY. She loves to create, whether it’s new dishes for the B&B’s restaurant or decorating for the farm’s first wedding event, but she sometimes finds it hard to balance tech time and real time with family and friends—a common issue for kids today.
The 18″ Blaire doll has bright green eyes that open and close, and curly red hair. She has a huggable cloth body, and her movable head and limbs are made of smooth vinyl. Her hair is beautiful by the way! Kind of magical! Her favorite dress is bumblebee print and gathered tie—details that Blaire loves and Teagan is already hoping she can get a matching dress because how cute!!
It is clear, Blaire Wilson is a vibrant, creative personality that strives to connect with people in many different ways. A personality that matches Teagan perfectly.
Can you see why this little lady is perfect for our family? Teagan has grown up on my blog, she has seen me whip delicious recipes, party plan to the max and create beautiful items and now Teagan wants to do the same. In the last year or so Teagan has really wanted to be more active in the creation of my blog and reviews. She wants to learn how to cook and loves to pretend to make cooking videos at home. Our little blogger in the making.
So, when I first met Blaire I was so excited to introduce her to Teagan. I really think that Blaire can relate to kids just like Teagan. American Girl sent us Blaire, her accessory kit and the first two books. We jumped right in and started reading about Blaire and before I knew it, miss Teagan was ready to jump into the kitchen!
Blaire has a blast designing and planning, and her accessories help keep her organized!
- A canvas tote with rose-colored straps and a flower graphic on the front to hold all of her party-planning supplies
- A faux tablet with interchangeable screens she uses to work on her food blog, as well as look up new recipes and add to her inspiration boards
- A striped clipboard for forms and a fancy pen for writing notes
- A party-planning notebook with tear-off pages, featuring multiple designs to help plan different elements and stickers to highlight important tasks
- A pretend bouquet of fresh flowers straight from her own garden to help brighten any space
- A postcard of what her family sells at the local farmers market
American Girl products have been special to me for years and I am so excited that Teagan is now at the perfect age to really engage in these items now. She can spend hours playing with her American Girl Dolls but what she loves the most is all of the fun accessories. American Girl really does think about every detail!
Cooking With Blaire!
After reading Blaire’s story, Teagan decided that she wanted to make something fresh to add to our dinner. We started thinking about salads we could make and she decided that she wanted a fruit salad. We talked about how fruit seasons change and we would need to figure otu what kind of fresh fruits are in season during the winter. We went shopping and then got to the fun part!
Teagan and Blaire are ready to create a perfect fresh and nutritious Winter Fruit Salad. It was adorable to see Teagan with her new buddy making a really beautiful fruit salad for our dinner.
