Summer Reading Log – FREE Printable
Summer is in full affect but that doesn’t mean it’s time to put the books down. While summer break is looking a little different this year I have been trying to get Jude and Teagan to sit down and read every day and do some pages in a summer school workbook. It is really hard for them to get that motivation but I have found that keeping track of the books and number of pages they have read is a really great option.
Using this log can help you and your kids sit down and create a good goal and maybe even create a reward system for number of pages or books read in a summer. This will get the kids motivated to pick up those books and get lost in a great story! By keeping the kids reading and using their brains, the summer slide will not be as difficult to deal with in a few months.
Summer Reading Motivation For Kids
I am so thankful that both Jude and Teagan love to read but I have to be honest, this summer has been hard to get them back on track with reading every day. Some days are easier than others but having some kind of reading log will help me and the kids stay focused and on track for some great summer reading time.

Book Recommendations For Kids
Finding a good series for kids to get interested can help. I have seen success with both Jude and Teagan when we find a book series because it helps them finish a book and jump into a new one without wondering what to read next.
