Experience Hotel Boulderado
When I had the opportunity to enjoy a night at Hotel Boulderado, I could not wait! I absolutely love staying at hotels and from what I knew about Hotel Boulderado I knew this would become one of my favorite places to stay in Colorado. From the moment you walk into the lobby of Hotel Boulderado you feel transported to a different time. The historical features of this building are breathtaking and unforgettable. Hotel Boulderado was built in 1909. The gorgeous stained glass ceiling and cherry wood grand staircase along with the historic artifacts found throughout the hotel makes this hotel a must visit location when in Boulder.

Historic Elegance
After checking into the hotel, I took some time to walk around the hotel. It truly feels like you are in a hotel during the early 1900s but with some great upgrades. The hotel and the hotel grounds are taken care of and look great.
I am not one that has any intention of getting married again but I certainly texted my friends to tell them if any of us plan on getting married we must have the wedding at the Hotel Boulderado! HA!! Perfect wedding and event venue.

Historic Tour
I was able to have about an hour with one of the in-house Hotel Historian’s to take a history tour around the hotel. It was so great to learn about all of the history that this building has as well as getting some insight into some of the art pieces and artifacts throughout the hotel. If you plan to stay at Hotel Boulderado, please add this to your must to do list. You will love to learn more about the hotel. Contact the Front Desk to schedule a history tour with the in-house Hotel Historian. Tours are subject to availability.

Rooms At Hotel Boulderado
Enjoy the elegant Victorian-inspired rooms full of charming décor, plush furnishings, and modern amenities. Large windows offer plenty of natural light and sweeping views of Downtown Boulder, the Rocky Mountain foothills, and the Boulder Flatirons.
There are a number of different sizes and types of rooms available at Hotel Boulderado and from what I have seen, all of them are gorgeous and updated. I stayed in the North Wing Premium King. The first thing I noticed was the super tall ceiling and the amazing windows from corner to corner of the room.

North Wing Premium King Room – Sizeable room with contemporary decor in updated North Wing:
- 1 king size bed
- sitting area, desk
- second vanity with sink
- small refrigerator
- premium beddings and linens
- 2 plush terrycloth bathrobes
- 2 bottles of Eldorado Springs water daily
- approximately 400 to 450 square feet
I loved this space, it was relaxing and plenty big enough to feel comfortable for the evening. I wish I could have stayed longer!
Hotel Boulderado was originally built with 90 rooms. They have built an addition and remodeled the historic wing. The current hotel has 160 rooms total with 42 of them in the historic wing.
Eat and Drink At Hotel Boulderado
When staying at Hotel Boulderado you won’t go hungry or thirsty. So many great food and drink options to choose from.

For dinner I had the opportunity to visit Spruce Farm & Fish, which is attached to Hotel Boulderado. This space was hopping and I could tell it was going to be a delicious meal and great experience. I had the Rosemary Chicken Sandwich and it was perfect. What I loved about this restaurant was that there is literally something for everyone. Fish, sandwiches, salads, steaks, etc. Great option when traveling.

After dinner I decided to jump back into time through the speakeasy. If you are in the area of Hotel Boulderado you MUST check out License No 1, this speakeasy has a great ambiance and it was a place I would love to visit again. This underground speakeasy-style cocktail lounge is a tribute to the elegant charm of the early 20th century. Step back in time with classic, handcrafted libations, chef-prepared small plates, and a lively atmosphere when you enter this hidden gem.

I decided to splurge a little bit and have room service for breakfast which was a great way to start my morning. The in room dining menu is packed with great items as well. I loved the variety and ease of the in room dining ordering.

Things To Do
When visiting the Hotel Boulderado there is plenty to do onsite but also around Boulder, you will not be bored!
I would highly recommend the License No 1 as a great place to enjoy for sure. It is fun to think that when the Hotel Boulderado opened its doors in 1909, the City of Boulder was dry, having outlawed the sale of demon rum and spirits within city limits in 1907. In 1969, one of the first legal licenses to serve hard liquor in a restaurant was issued to the bar located in the basement of Hotel Boulderado. Today License No. 1 continues with the very same liquor license first issued in 1969.

Head to the website to find a fun Scavenger Hunt to do around the property. Great for all ages, helps guests explore the hotel and find some fun artifacts! Make sure you check out the “happenings” at Hotel Boulderado. There are weekly comedy shows, live jazz experiences and so much more!
