This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of New York Life for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Isn’t it amazing how much impact one person can have on your life?  Support, love and encouragement can go so far with young minds.  Take this video called “My All-Star Daughter” as an example.

With the support of her father, she went far, she was successful and most importantly had fun!  Parenting is a full time job and that job even extends to the ball field, stage or classroom.

My parents have always brought me many life lessons growing up and I appreciate each one of those lessons, even if I didn’t appreciate them years ago!  31 years ago I was adopted by my parents and from that day forward I feel like my parents were there to support and love me in every way possible.

Dreams can be huge, some unattainable but with the support that my parents gave me growing up I felt like I could do anything with them behind me.  I left home for college and moved to a different state, I was nervous and scared but with my parents telling me I would do well – I did!  I achieved a degree that I am proud of and more importantly made lasting friendships, grew up to be a self-sufficient young woman and met the love of my life.

The Keep Good Going Life Lessons are welcome nuggets of wisdom and insight that are derived from life experiences.  They are often simple but always profound because they touch on the truths that hold life tighter.  They are personal (not social or community) good, about you and those close to you.

Without my parents support, love and trust I would not be where I am today.  I was never told that I couldn’t do something, instead I was always encouraged.  What a great way to parent.  My life lesson is to never give up and do what makes you happy and proud.  I will instill this in my children as well.  If my son wants to join gymnastics and my daughter wants to play football…I will sign the papers.

Can you relate to this video?  Was there any special life lesson that your parents shared with you?  What made you who you are today?
