How are you seeing technology in your children’s daily education at school and in your home?

Parenting is full of hard choices and decisions but, to be honest, I never thought that choosing the “correct” school for my kids would be one of the hard ones! When I first became a mom nearly 8 years ago, I was not thinking about this big choice but now that we are in the season of school aged kiddos it has been on our minds. That being said, we are finally comfortable and satisfied with our school choices for both Jude and Teagan.
Education and Technology
One of the biggest things we looked at when deciding on a school for the kids was the technology options offered. It is no surprise that kids, nowadays, know way more about technology than most adults. Now that technology is ever-present in our daily lives, schools need to be utilizing this knowledge and continue learning and education using technology. It may seem like an easy task but, as we all know, technology is expensive. Both education and technology are important to me as a mother because I want the very best for my kids. As a daughter of two retired teachers, I have been brought up knowing how important school is for kids. And now that I am a parent of school aged children, I am seeing this even more clearly.
Over the years, I have loved seeing all of the great work CenturyLink has done for underprivileged youth in the community and schools in Colorado. It is clear that CenturyLink wants all kids to be successful and understands that quality technology and education cost money some schools just do not have the budget for. I love when businesses dive into the local communities and find ways to help families succeed. Even more of a reason to support CenturyLink! CenturyLink is continuing to promote education and the technology that fuels learning by supporting several important initiatives in Colorado communities, including their Teachers and Technology program in Denver.
What is Century Link’s Teachers and Technology Program?
The Teachers and Technology grant program helps teachers bring technology into the classroom to increase student achievement. The best part about this program is that it isn’t just supporting the Denver Metro area. CenturyLink is supporting all communities across the state. This May, CenturyLink will be announcing a total of more than $145,000 to 32 teachers across Colorado in support of enhancing the innovative use of technology in their classrooms. CenturyLink is also providing a total of $1.4 million in Teachers & Technology grants for STEM programs nationwide. That is so awesome for those teachers.
The commitment is clear and the grants just keep helping numerous students succeed at school and at home. From the looks of it, CenturyLink is just starting. I am excited to see what else they provide using these great grants for schools in Colorado. As parents, we want the very best for our kids and CenturyLink is helping that wish and dream become a reality for more students.
