Disclosure: My family and I were provided with free screening passes for this film in exchange for our honest review and opinions.
June started off pretty INCREDIBLE for us! Last week we got to enjoy a nice afternoon at the movie theater to see the INCREDIBLES 2 movie. Last week was crazy busy for us but when we got this great invite we knew we had to make it work. We headed to downtown to a great movie theater in Denver and got ready for the show.
Even though my kids were not around when the first INCREDIBLES movie was released it is a movie that we have introduced them to and they love it. While this has been a long 13 year wait for this sequel I have to say, it is INCREDIBLE and so worth the wait!
INCREDIBLES 2
Voice Cast: Craig T. Nelson, Holly Hunter, Sarah Vowell, Huck Milner, Samuel L. Jackson, Brad Bird, Bob Odenkirk, Catherine Keener, Jonathan Banks, Sophia Bush, Isabella Rossellini

In “Incredibles 2,” Helen (voice of Holly Hunter) is called on to lead a campaign to bring Supers back, while Bob (voice of Craig T. Nelson) navigates the day-to-day heroics of “normal” life at home with Violet (voice of Sarah Vowell), Dash (voice of Huck Milner) and baby Jack-Jack—whose super powers are about to be discovered. Their mission is derailed, however, when a new villain emerges with a brilliant and dangerous plot that threatens everything. But the Parrs don’t shy away from a challenge, especially with Frozone (voice of Samuel L. Jackson) by their side. That’s what makes this family so Incredible.
Written and directed by Brad Bird (“Iron Giant,” “The Incredibles,” “Ratatouille”) and produced by John Walker (“The Incredibles,” “Tomorrowland”) and Nicole Grindle (“Sanjay’s Super Team” short, “Toy Story 3” associate producer), Disney•Pixar’s “Incredibles 2” busts into theaters on June 15, 2018.
A NO Spoiler Review of INCREDIBLES 2
Like I said, this particular sequel was one that Jeremy and I have been waiting 13 long years for and while the kids haven’t waited nearly as long as us they were so anxious to finally see an update on this incredible family. From the moment INCREDABLES 2 starts you feel like you did not miss a second of this superhero family. It literally picks up right where we left them years ago. I loved this, there was no guessing what was next.
Sometime sequels cut out some of the original cast but that was not the case for this sequel. We were once again introduced to Frozone, which my kids LOVE! “Where is my Super Suit?” is a phrase that we hear a lot in our family, and in the same tone as Frozone himself of course!
Through out the movie I loved that once again, Mrs. Incredible (Elastigirl), shows that superheros do not have to be men. In fact, in INCREDIBLES 2 we see superheros that are men, women and children! LOVE THAT!! Oh and while Mrs. Incredible (Elastigirl) is out fighting the bad guys, Mr. Incredible has to do the at home work – a whole other version of a superhero in my opinion. While this added some funny scenes it also was great to see the father in the story in this position as well. INCREDIBLES is showing us all kinds of dynamics in the family and workplace! In addition to the parents showing off their super skills we got to see how all three of the kids have really started following their superhero parent’s footsteps!
When the movie was over, the kids were sad. Not because the movie was bad but because they loved it so much they did not want it to be over. I know that this is not the only time we will watch this movie…Jeremy did not get to go with us so I am thinking we will head to the theater again this weekend!
In Jude’s words – “INCREDIBLES 2 was INCREDIBLE!!!
So, what are you doing on Friday June 15th? I bet I can think of something so INCREDIBLE to add to your agenda!
