How many of you are like me and love summer because of the fun fruity cocktails? Please tell me I am not the only one. Maybe it is because I am already dreaming about our fall trip to beautiful blue water and sandy beaches. I know that beach time will be here before we know it but man it seems so far away. Guess I need to make my own tropical goodness in my backyard…mom style. How you ask? Pulling out the kiddie pool, find my new sunglasses, make a refreshing summer cocktail and kick back with a good beach read. Sounds pretty awesome to me. Before making my go to drink I decided I would try something new for a change. I love getting creative with flavored alcohol and making delicious drinks. Recently, I was introduced to Sugarlands Distilling Company and their amazing Moonshine…yes Moonshine! And from now on there will be moonshine in my summer cocktails.
Sugarlands Distilling Company Moonshine – Perfect For Creating Summer Cocktails
Located just outside the Great Smoky Mountains in downtown Gatlinburg, Tennessee lays a fully functioning distillery and entertainment venue called Sugarlands Distilling Company. Sugarlands offers an award-winning line of spirits including moonshine, cream liqueurs, rum and rye whiskey. Each of these spirits are packaged so vintage like in their own mason jars.
I was able to try two amazing moonshine spirits and both of them are so great. Pina Colada Moonshine and Blockader’s Blackberry Moonshine. While I love blackberry I was so excited to try the Pina Colada Moonshine. Nothing screams summer cocktails better than Pina Colada! YUM!! This Sugarlands Pina Colada Moonshine is a great combination of pineapple and coconut. There are so many different cocktails that you can make with this Pina Colada Moonshine such as a coconut Bellini, coconut margarita, pina colada. This spirit from Sugarlands is smooth and sweet and honestly could be enjoyed alone over ice or blended like this delicious Tropical Dream I made.
Looks absolutely refreshing right? SO GOOD!!

While the Sugarlands Pina Colada Moonshine is perfect for Tropical cocktails the Blockader’s Blackberry Moonshine is perfect for anyone who loves berries. This blackberry moonshine blends the natural flavors of ripe berries and fragrances of honeysuckle and lavender and can be a great addition to so many different summer drinks including a great splash of flavor to add to your Sunday brunch champagne.
