Disclosure:  We were provided with a free American Girl Doll and Accessories in exchange for this post.  No other compensation was provided.

A few weeks ago we headed up to our family cabin in Leadville Colorado with Jeremy’s parents.  We are so lucky to have this cabin to escape the busy Denver life and summer heat.  We try to go to the cabin a few times a summer and have done this since we were dating.  Over the last few years we have really had a lot of great memories made at the cabin with Jude and Teagan, especially now that they are getting older.  And we all enjoy the beautiful lake, mountain air and time to explore and relax but sometimes the kids want something more to do while we are on our cabin trips.

Exploring The Outdoors With American Girl

On our most recent trip we had the opportunity to surprise Teagan with a fun American Girl and some PERFECT adventure accessories.  She was thrilled and I was able to enjoy some quiet reading time at the lake while she played.  What a perfect way to enjoy our large deck on the cabin.  Teagan dressed her new Truly Me™ Doll, that has blond hair and blue eyes, in her cabin perfect explore the outdoors outfit and set up her new tent.  Adorable right?  I loved watching and listening to her play with her new American Girl items, such creativity.

About the Truly Me™ Doll #63:

Blue Eyes, Medium-Length Blond Hair. The 18-inch Truly Me™ doll has a huggable cloth body, eyes that open and close, hair that can be styled, and a movable head and limbs made of smooth vinyl. This doll has light skin tone, medium-length blond hair, and blue eyes. She arrives wearing a printed dress with a mesh hem, a zip-front moto jacket with a star zipper pull, and glittery flat shoes.

This set also features the Truly Me Accessories:

  • A lavender sweater with a glittery star graphic
  • Light blue jersey leggings with embroidery at the ankle
  • A glittery zigzag headband
  • A wristlet with pockets
  • A pretend cell phone
  • 2 double-sided phone screens that slide into the phone
  • A flexible phone case with hand strap
  • A pretend library card
  • A pretend doll-sized American Girl gift card
  • 5 pretend dollar bills

Ever since Teagan was introduced to American Girl she is hooked.  She absolutely loves playing with her Luciana Vega doll so when we surprised her with these treats when we got to the cabin she was so happy.  I think her favorite part was the tent and the adorable lantern of glowing LED fireflies.  So cute!  We do not have fireflies in Colorado so this was a real treat.

About the Adventure Tent For Dolls:

From the backyard to the backwoods, no sleepover would be complete without an awesome tent. It fits up to two dolls comfortably and has fabric windows and zippered doors that can roll up, just like on a real tent. It even comes with a lantern that has a pretend leafy stick inside with softly glowing LED fireflies.

About the Explore The Outdoors Outfit:

She can dress her doll for adventure in this outfit, including:

  • A tie-dye-print tank top with an empire waist
  • A hooded jacket with three-quarter sleeves and printed “patches” at the chest
  • Coral twill shorts with frayed edges
  • Ankle-strap sandals with buckles

What I love about American Girl is that there is literally an outfit, doll or accessory for any event or adventure your little one might be going on.  Teagan took her new doll on our family hikes and loved putting her dolls into the tent for naps and bedtime.  Adorable.  And while the tent says it fits two dolls, she may have 4 in there right now…what a sleep over!!!  HA!!

As said when I introduced Luciana Vega to you all in January, I am so excited to have Teagan entering the American Girl phase, mostly because I am ready to jump back into my love for all things American Girl.  Growing up, my mom and I read the original American Girl books which later moved into all of the American Girl Dolls and accessories.

Recently, we were given a number of American Girl books that I am super excited to sit down with Teagan and read.  For our next cabin trip I think we will bring the books, her doll and tent.  We can just have an American Girl adventure!  American Girl is teaching children to use their imaginations and have creative play.  Most days when we tell Teagan she needs some rest and quite time away from screens she goes straight to her dolls.  It is a perfect way for her to have some quite time but still be playing.  I love it!
