Hard to believe we are already into the second week of July…were did this summer go…but even in all of the summer fun I have found a way to stay on top of my 2018 reading challenge! I am so happy to share that I have completed book number 6 for 2018 and I am right on track for my 12 books read in 2018. Woo!
For my 6th book I decided that I had to read a book written by Katherine Center a fabulous author that was what I would consider one of the OG bloggers! Katherine is known for her amazing storytelling and her newest release How To Walk Away did not disappoint. In fact, I found myself staying up until 2am to finish this book…that hasn’t happened in years. I was really excited to read this book after hearing Katherine speak at the Mom 2.0 conference in May. She was simply captivating.
How To Walk Away by Katherine Center
Margaret Jacobsen has a bright future ahead of her: a fiancé she adores, her dream job, and the promise of a picture-perfect life just around the corner. Then, suddenly, on what should have been one of the happiest days of her life, everything she worked for is taken away in one tumultuous moment. In the hospital and forced to face the possibility that nothing will ever be the same again, Margaret must figure out how to move forward on her own terms while facing long-held family secrets, devastating heartbreak, and the idea that love might find her in the last place she would ever expect.
How to Walk Away is Katherine Center at her very best: an utterly charming, hopeful, and romantic novel that will capture reader’s hearts with every page.
My Review of How To Walk Away
As I said, I stayed up until 2am one morning because I just could not put this book down. That morning I woke up super tired but walked that book to my mom and made her read it too! And while she did not stay up until 2am she did finish it very quickly and thought it was a fantastic book as well.
From the very beginning of the novel I felt so connected to Margaret. And honestly I felt every feeling possible while reading this book. Love, fear, sadness, happiness, hope, frustration, hate and so much more. Margaret is confident and feeling ready to take on the world but her world is changed in a blink of an eye and her future takes a whole new route. During this change she finds herself and learns how to walk away even when it seems impossible.
I really loved this book because it had a love story, a story about hope and healing and had parts that I was laughing out loud…oh and I might have cried once too! I would absolutely recommend this book to anyone that likes a great love story and story of hope. I would not consider this a chic lit book because it is pretty detailed although, I would have loved to read this book by the pool so it could be a great vacation book to add to your packing list.
I am well into my 7th book for 2018 and find myself staying up way too late reading it as well. HA! My 7th book of the year is Still Me by Jojo Moyes. Make sure you check out my previous book reviews for 2018 too.
