Hello almost August!! I bet you thought I got off track with my reading but here I am today to share my 7th book of 2018! Let me also tell you something exciting, as of today I am starting my 10th book for 2018!! Guys, I am 3 books ahead of schedule!!!!!! WOO!!! I think I might break my 12 book goal!! Okay, now, time to share my 7th book of 2018 – Still Me by Jojo Moyes. A few years ago I read the first book of the “Me Before You” series. “Me Before You” was a great book, one of those that I could not put down and again with the second book “After You”. So when I saw that Jojo Moyes had a third book called “Still Me” I knew I had to pick it up.
Still Me by Jojo Moyes
Louisa Clark arrives in New York ready to start a new life, confident that she can embrace this new adventure and keep her relationship with Ambulance Sam alive across several thousand miles. She steps into the world of the superrich, working for Leonard Gopnik and his much younger second wife, Agnes. Lou is determined to get the most out of the experience and throws herself into her new job and New York life.
As she begins to mix in New York high society, Lou meets Joshua Ryan, a man who brings with him a whisper of her past. Before long, Lou finds herself torn between Fifth Avenue where she works and the treasure-filled vintage clothing store where she actually feels at home. And when matters come to a head, she has to ask herself: Who is Louisa Clark? And how do you reconcile a heart that lives in two places?
Funny, romantic, and poignant, Still Me follows Lou as she navigates how to stay true to herself, while pushing to live boldly in her brave new world.
My Review of Still Me by Jojo Moyes
Like I said, I had read the two other novels about Louisa Clark and that being said, you must read those before jumping into this one. Louisa heads off to the BIG APPLE for a new adventure, an adventure that she seeks after Will Traynor urges her to do big things. You will meet Will in the first book. I love how developed Lousia Clark’s character has become in Jojo Moyes novels. I feel like I know her personally and could totally get along with her and have some fun.
While Still Me did not have me tearful like the first two books I felt absolutely connected to Lousia. Her life is full of trials that bring her so many life lessons. I also enjoyed the humor in this book. I enjoyed Still Me while on a camping trip in the mountains, it was the perfect book to enjoy on a relaxing day. I would recommend all of the books from the “Me Before You” series. Again, Still Me was not as emotional but due to Lousia being a character that I love and enjoy reading about I did still feel very emotionally attached to her through out her trials in this book.
Well that is book #7 for 2018! I am starting my tenth book for the year so be on the look out for my book reviews of my 8th and 9th books read!! Make sure you check out my previous book reviews for 2018 too.
