True Value Reunion – Colorado Convention Center
A few months ago I had the opportunity to head to Downtown Denver and attend the True Value Fall Reunion. If you are like me, you have no idea what this event is all about but once I walked in I was blown away at what I was experiencing. The True Value Reunion is a huge conference for retailers to come and network, educate and get some great deals. The Colorado Convention Center was filled full of great products and brands but the space I was excited to get more information on was the True Value Paint booth.
When I walked up to the booth space I immediately felt like I was in a True Value store. They created their booth to mock a Color Center in their stores, which allowed me to see exactly how a consumer would decide on paint colors, designs and even paint tools. Don’t you love looking at different paint chips? Oh the rainbow of colors and opportunities!!
Learning About EasyCare Ultra Premium Paint
While at the True Value booth I was introduced to the EasyCare Ultra Premium Paint and was instantly sold. We have done a lot of painting in our home and while it is a lot of work and can spruce up a space quickly the worst part about painting in my opinion is the smell. I have often wondered about that smell…it cannot possibly be good for us to inhale! This is where EasyCare Ultra Premium Paint comes into play and I will never pick up any other type of interior paint again when doing home projects.
EasyCare Ultra Premium Paint is paint-and-primer in one that offers superior durability, smooth application, impeccable finish and rich color. EasyCare Paint is low-odor, low-VOC and 100% acrylic. It has superior stain resistance and delivers long lasting color and performance to turn your design inspirations into reality. The EasyCare Ultra Premium Paint is available in flat, eggshell, satin, semi-gloss and gloss sheens in both interior and exterior paint. Certified by the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA), EasyCare Ultra Premium Interior Paint* minimizes irritants and pollutants in the air, creating a healthier indoor environment and allowing you to enjoy newly painted spaces sooner.
When I learned all of the great facts about EasyCare Ultra Premium Paint I was super excited to get started on our next home project and use the paint.
A Bright Bathroom Update
If you have been following along you have probably noticed that in the last year we have updated our basement bathroom, laundry room and most recently our living room. Some of these updates are simple and others have been complete demos. After learning about EasyCare Ultra Premium Paint I knew the exact room we would be testing the paint on. Our main bathroom is upstairs, this bathroom is for our guests, the kids and for us. Living in an older home we do not have a master bathroom perse and for that reason we want this bathroom to be enjoyable and updated.
When we moved into our home we loved the decor and paint the previous owners had, that was over 10 years ago and let’s face it our decor style has changed. All of the rooms in our home, except for the areas we have updated, have those warm neutral colors which years ago was totally the style. Currently, if I could change every room in my home to be a cooler neutral I would. Grey, blues, purple and white are my thing right now.
As you can see, our bathroom NEEDED this update bad!! The before photos show the warm tones throughout and those tones totally made everything yellow in our bathroom. It looked old and dirty. Now, when I started this plan of updating the bathroom, it was supposed to just be the painting but in true home remodeling form we went bigger.
A notable feature of the EasyCare Ultra Premium Paint is the paint-and-primer in one! I have heard that green is the hardest color to cover when painting so I was worried that the green paint in our bathroom would be hard to cover. But the EasyCare Ultra Premium Paint proved to work even on those hard shades of paint. We needed two coats but the green was covered perfectly!
Our bathroom update not only included the EasyCare Ultra Premium Paint but also a new mirror, medicine cabinet, sink/vanity, shower curtain, fixtures and towels. So while the project took a little longer than expected the final outcome is AMAZING!! When I walk into this space now, it feels clean, bright, inviting and maybe even a little bigger.
For this update we used EasyCare Ultra Premium Paint “Prim and Proper” on the ceiling and trim and “Foggy Morning” on the walls. I really wanted the two tones on the walls and ceiling in hopes of it feeling bigger in this tiny space and I think it really worked. The “Foggy Morning” color is shade of purple with a touch of grey. It is a lot brighter than the green we previously had but with the white cabinets and decor it is perfect. We decided to use the Satin sheen for this area of the house and I am really pleased with the way it looks in the bathroom.
Jeremy struggles with his asthma so when we paint we do worry about the complications but with the EasyCare Ultra Premium Paint earning the allergy and asthma certification had us really interested in testing this paint out in our tiny bathroom. The space we had to paint in was tight and as you can see there are no windows in that space but with EasyCare Ultra Premium Paint we were able to be in that bathroom without the worry of the stinky paint smell. We were both super surprised at this feature because as I said before, the smell of paint is the worst in my opinion. As the space dried our home was still smelling nice and fresh. If you walked into our home during this update you would have never known we had just painted!
Something to consider is that earning this allergy and asthma certification is not an easy task. In order to receive this certification, the product must go through a rigorous series of lab tests to prove that they help reduce exposure to allergens and irritants. EasyCare Ultra Premium Paint (in flat, eggshell and satin sheens) has passed these tests and is the only paint on the market to be certified. It minimizes those irritants and creates a healthier indoor environment, even in a newly painted room!
This after photo is still such a surprise to me and I am loving it! Ready start your next update? EasyCare Ultra Premium Paint is available at True Value stores nationwide and many independent paint and hardware retailers. Visit the Store Locator on www.TrueValue.com to find a retailer near you.
