This post is sponsored by Make-A-Wish Foundation but the content and opinions expressed here are my own.

Two years ago we took our first family trip to Disneyland.  It was magical because we had both sets of grandparents traveling with us.  Memories will last forever.  One of the first things we did when we arrived at Disneyland was get the kids their first pair of ears!  Oh and Jeremy too because it was his first Disneyland experience too!  HA!  Now, those ears were loved on that trip and they cannot wait to wear them again on our next trip…maybe we need to start planning one?  But I learned about a great project that is making those ears even more special!

Make A Wish: Share Your Ears

To honor the 130,000th Disney wish granted globally and in celebration of 90 years of Mickey Mouse this month Disney is inviting fans to share your ears to help make life changing wishes come true for children with critical illnesses. From November 18th through November 27th 2018 simply take a photo showing off your “Mickey Mouse ears” or any creative ears you wish and upload it to Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. For every public photo posted with #ShareYourEars Disney will donate US $5 to Make A Wish, up to $1 million to grant even more wishes!  This is all part of the Disney Team of Heroes commitment to deliver comfort and inspiration to families around the world.

Yes!  Sharing our favorite photos of joy and fun at the happiest place on earth will now result in helping a great organization as well.  LOVE THAT.  When I started reading about this great opportunity I started looking through our Disneyland trip photos and picked out a few of our favorites and I will be sharing those on social media to help contribute to that 2 million dollar donation!  WOOHOO!!

Oh and I would be lying if through all of this photo hunting I didn’t also price a few vacations to Disneyland!  Hey, it has been two years since we have been there!  Time for another visit right?

A Partnership That Makes Wishes Come True!

Since the very first wish in 1980, Disney and Make-A-Wish® together have granted more than 120,000 life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. For more than 37 years, we’ve seen how a wish can play a critical role in a child’s treatment, replacing fear with confidence, sadness with joy and anxiety with hope. Wishes matter so deeply to us and to the children and the families around the world who experience them.

I realize that some people may not have their own pair of ears or maybe their ears are too small for them (that’s me!) but that is no excuse.  Time to great creative, make your own ears and then jump into the #ShareYourEars fun!   Think outside of the traditional Mickey Ears and go for any of your favorite colors or characters.   These creative ears can be over the top, traditional, simple or even holiday themed.  No matter how you do it, share those ears and help some wishes be granted!

Details about this opportunity.  From Nov. 18th – November 17th, 2018 Walt Disney Parks will donate  $5 for each social “share” up to $1 million in donations.  Share on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.  Keep in mind that your social shares MUST be public.

Holiday Cheer with Share Your Ears!

Our kids are at the age where it is super important to keep teaching them what this holiday season should be centered around.  Sure, opening presents, eating delicious food and going to holiday events are super fun and important this time of the year but I also want to make sure we teach our kids the importance of giving back as well.  What a great way to start the holiday season with such a fun opportunity by simply putting on our favorite ears and sharing those memories and photos on social media.  I love that I was able to share this with Jude and Teagan and explain where that $5 dollars is going.  Hello teachable moment!

Share your favorite memory of ears and make sure you upload that memory to Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.  Think of all of the lives this amazing #ShareYourEars campaign is changing.
