Thank you Idahoan® Steakhouse® Soups for sponsoring this post. Enjoy the flavorful, slow-cooked taste of restaurant-quality soup at home, in minutes.

Baby it is cold outside and during this season of cold my family loves to enjoy food that warms them up from the inside.  That being said we are always looking for easy cold weather dinner ideas and this is one of our favorites! Cozy Up This Winter With Cheddar Broccoli Potato Soup and an easy apple crumble recipe.

If you are like our family when the season changes so does our meal plan and eating habits.  When the chill hits we all want hearty, warm and comforting foods like soups and casseroles but when the temperature starts going up we want meal ideas that do not involve heat!  The only thing that is the same all year round is that as a busy mom I need meal ideas that are easy and kid approved.

Cozy Up This Winter With Cheddar Broccoli Potato Soup

I really love soup during the winter months and so does my whole family but what I do not like about soup is the process of making it.  Sure there are weekends that having a pot of soup simmering on the stove all day is great but for the most part our weekends, even in the winter, are packed full and we not home to enjoy or simmering pot of soup all day.

So, I had to find a solution that gave us all the comforts of homemade soup without the work and time and I found it!   Idahoan® Steakhouse® Soups are now a staple in our pantry during the cold weather months not just because of the ease of these soups but also because they are delicious!  I am pretty proud of some of my soup recipes but I have to be honest here, the Idahoan Steakhouse Soups are much better than mine!

I love going out and enjoying the cold weather activities with the kids but knowing that there is an easy cold weather meal sitting at home waiting for us to return is the best.  I honestly cannot think of a better meal after playing in the snow than a big bowl of hearty soup!  YUM!!

Why We Love Idahoan Steakhouse Soups

The brand Idahoan is a brand that we trust and use often for our meals.  I wish I could tell you that all of our family meals are home cooked from scratch but that would be a lie.  So when I am looking for meal shortcuts I often pick up products like the Idahoan Steakhouse Soups.  This package is a perfect amount for our family of 4 and it literally allows me to get dinner on the table in less than 15 minutes.  Not only is this a lifesaver for busy school nights but especially great for those weekend dinners that we want something comforting to enjoy after spending some time out in the chilly weather.

The Idahoan Steakhouse Soups bring together real Idaho® potatoes with flavorful seasonings and rich cheeses. By simply adding water we get to enjoy the creamy, hearty taste in every spoonful!  SO GOOD!  For those of you hoping to stay on budget this year and cutting back, adding these restaurant quality soups to your meal plan will be a great way to start.  Stop going out to eat to enjoy a big bowl of soup; when you can prepare this Cheddar Broccoli Potato Soup at home in minutes.

We usually pair our Idahoan Steakhouse Soup with a nice piece of toast or a bread stick which is great but the kids always want something sweet after a fun day of enjoying the cold weather.  So, the last time I made our favorite soup I decided to put something extra in the oven while we snuggled up on the couch after dinner.

Easy Apple Crumble

This super easy apple crumble recipe is the perfect cold weather dessert.

Ingredients:

4-5 medium apples (of your choice) sliced
4 TBSP sugar
2 tsp cinnamon
3/4 cup rolled oats
3/4 cup flour
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup butter, melted

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

2. Prepare the filling by slicing the apples and putting them into a baking pan.  I used a 8×8 pan.

3.  Sprinkling cinnamon and sugar over the sliced apples making sure to cover each apple.

4.  In a medium bowl combine the oats, flour and brown sugar to start the crumble topping.

5.  Once the dry ingredients are completely combined and add the melted butter.  Stir until all is moistened.

6. Sprinkle the crumble evenly over the apple filling.

7. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until the apples are soft and the filling is bubbling.  ENJOY!

Looks amazing right?  And this dessert recipe really is the perfect way end a day with the family.  Warm hearts, warm tummies and snuggles!
