One season is out the door and in comes another! Game Day food is some of my favorite so I love hosting friends and family on game day. Here are some easy tips to hosting the perfect game day party.
A lot of the time I love being the hostess that surprises her guests with home-cooked snacks, creative dishes and fun drinks but frankly after the holiday season I am usually spent and ready to find some easy ways to still be the hostess with the mostess with out the stress or extra work.
This item of the year is Game Day time in our house. The kids have gotten very used to having the games on the TV for dad to watch and now that we have rearranged our living room we now have an even better set-up for some fun game day parties! So excited!! Mostly I am excited for the snacks! Game day snacks are always the best!!
5 Tips to Hosting the Perfect Game Day Party
To jump into this season I always start by heading to Walmart to have some of our favorite items on hand, like Frank’s RedHot Wings, these things have become a staple in our home for any time we need a great and easy snack. While at Walmart I also make sure I stock up on game day party must haves that will just make my life a lot easier for the next few weeks.
Tip 1 – Add Finger Foods To Your Shopping Cart
Like I said, Frank’s RedHot Wings are a delicious must have on our Game Day. We pick up the wings in the freezer section at Walmart. The wings come in three tasty flavors:
The Frank’s RedHot Wings are so easy to prepare too. You can either prepare them in the microwave or if you know you are going to have a large crowd you can easily prepare a lot of those tasty wings in the oven. What is great about the Frank’s RedHot Wings is that you can always have them in your freezer for some backup snacks if needed.
Finger foods are always a fan favorite because they are easy to prepare and can feed a crowd. I don’t know about you but I LOVE snacking on weekend afternoons. Just something cozy about those winter afternoons hanging on the couch watching a good game with some of my favorite snacks.
Tip 2 – Paper Plates and Napkins
Hey, no one likes doing dishes so while you are out gathering up your game day snacks make sure you pick up some game day themed plates, napkins, and serving dishes. Not only does this make clean up easier but it adds some fun game day themes to your table and party! If kids are going to be present I also make sure to pick up some fun football shaped bead necklaces. Gives the kids something to be excited about when they are finished with their snacks.
Tip 3 – Cook Before The Game
One of the only reasons I do not like hosting parties is that sometimes I feel like I miss the socializing and fun due to worrying about all of my guests having enough food or drinks. To kick the stress to the curb you can find recipes that can be prepared ahead of time or you can use the easy to prepare Frank’s RedHot Wings. Let Frank do the hard work for you.
Tip 4 – Everyone Loves A Potluck!
Let your guests know that you will be preparing the main protein dish – hello Frank’s RedHot Wings – and encourage your guests to build the snack table by asking them to each bring their favorite Game Day Snack recipe. Not only does this make your job as the hostess easier but your Game Day spread will be filled with all kinds of goodies from your guests. As the hostess, make sure you are communicating what the main dish will be so your guests can have an idea of what they should bring to the party.
Tip 5 – Set The Scene
No one wants to have to be secluded from the party just to go and get some snacks. We love to make our whole living room the party room. We make sure there are enough seats for everyone and have the food in the same area as the watching party. To do this you might need to rearrange your TV area but make sure you do this before the party. Since you are planning on serving finger food it is super important that you have enough table tops for people to set their food when necessary.
Extra Tip – make sure your TV is working! A game day party can go south real fast if the TV isn’t working!
Wing Time Fun
What is the best part about enjoying hot wings? For me it is the dip! Every time we enjoy Frank’s RedHot Wings I have to make a little dip station that includes all of our favorite dips. When I serve the Frank’s RedHot Wings at our Game Day Parties I always make sure I think outside the box and include any kind of dip possible. I set out little dip dishes around the wings and watch our guests dip away!!
Dip Ideas:
- Ranch
- Blue Cheese
- Dill Dip
- Cheese Sauce
- Green Goddess Dressing
- Honey Mustard
- BBQ
- French Onion
- Buffalo
Now, I love my wings saucy so I also make sure I pick up a bottle of Franks RedHot Wing Sauce as well. Saucy wings are the best!
Well from the looks of it, this was a successful Game Day Snack! Delicious!! We highly recommend picking up some of these easy to prepare Frank’s RedHot Wings. Instead of going out to the bar for wings you can simply set the scene here at home on Game Day.
Fun fact: Frank’s RedHot Cayenne Pepper Sauce was the secret ingredient in the first ever Buffalo Wings in Buffalo, New York! It was the start of the flavor craze that is all things Buffalo! As your guests are enjoying their wings make sure you surprise them that fun fact!
