If you have been around here long you probably have picked up on my cooking style…EASY!  Look, I love cooking and providing my family with delicious meals but after a long day my energy in the kitchen is limited.  A key for me to make meal time easy is to have some great kid approved meals that are easy to put together but also have some great side dish items on hand to make that meal complete in minutes!

Recently, after visiting a cheap fast food chain (don’t judge) we became aware of how much Jude and Teagan loved Mexican Style Pizza.  I decided that I could totally make our own Mexican Style Pizza for an easy family dinner.  As I made my shopping list for a yummy Taco Pizza meal I was trying to figure out what to pair our Taco Pizza with to complete our meal.  As I walked around Walmart I found the BUSH’S® Savory Beans and instantly knew they would be the perfect side dish to this Taco Pizza recipe.

Introducing BUSH’S® Savory Beans

When I meal plan I always make sure to plan for a side dish too.  Sure, there are some recipes that do not need a pairing but for most of our dinners we need to have an easy kid approved side dish to add to our plates.  Adding the heat and eat BUSH’S® Savory Beans makes for a delicious pairing, no matter what else is on your plate.

We have loved adding BUSH’S Savory Beans to our meal plans and really appreciate that BUSH’S takes pride in their products as they are delicious, real and honest, made with simple ingredients! The BUSH’S® Savory Beans are simmered in delicious savory sauces, and come in three flavors. BUSH’S® Black Beans Fiesta, BUSH’S® Southwestern Style Pinto Beans and BUSH’S® Southern Style White Beans. You can get all three flavors at Walmart!  I like to stock up and have them in my pantry for easy side dish options.  For this Taco Pizza meal I decided that the BUSH’S® Black Beans Fiesta would pair perfectly.

Taco Pizza Recipe: An Easy Family Dinner

Ingredients:

1 tube refrigerated crescent rolls
4 ounces cream cheese – softened
4 ounces sour cream
1 pound ground turkey or beef
Taco seasoning
1 cup cheddar/jack cheese, shredded
Tomatoes – diced
Shredded lettuce
Avocado – sliced
1 can BUSH’S® Black Beans Fiesta™ (15.5 oz.)

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.  Prepare baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. Unroll the crescent roll dough and layout on the baking sheet.  Pinch together any holes before baking for 8-9 minutes.

3. Remove from oven and let crescent rolls cool completely.

4.  Brown ground turkey in a skillet.  Once browned, add the taco seasoning and 1/4 cup water.  Let taco seasoning simmer and coat the meat.

5.  In a medium mixing bowl, add softened cream cheese and sour cream and combine well.

6.  Spread cream cheese and sour cream mixture over cooled crescent rolls evenly.

7.  Top mixture with browned and seasoned meat.

8.  Sprinkle shredded cheese over meat.

9.  Prepare fresh veggies as directed and layer over cheese and meat.

10. Cut taco pizza into squares and serve immediately with a side of the heat and eat BUSH’S® Savory Beans.

Looks delicious, tastes amazing and can totally be customized for anyone.  For Teagan we added some black olives and for Jeremy and me we added some chopped onions.  So good!  I was really surprised at how easy this Taco Pizza was to make and I loved how we had no dinnertime fights from the kids.  They gobbled it up!

Tip – this Taco Pizza recipe would be perfect for a party appetizer as well.  YUM!

Just Heat and Eat!

Once our Taco Pizza was complete we completed our meal by simply cooking the BUSH’S® Black Beans Fiesta in the microwave or on the stove-top. So easy!  Just Heat and Eat!  Our meal is complete and our tummies are happy.
