Disclosure: My family and I were invited to a pre-screening of TOY STORY 4 in exchange for this post.
TOY STORY 4 hits theaters in a few weeks. We got a sneak peek at this highly anticipated release and we are here to answer your question – Should You Plan A Trip To The Theater?
TOY STORY 4 in Theaters
I was 12 years old when the first TOY STORY hit theaters. I still remember seeing it for the first time. I feel in love with the toys and really enjoyed sharing all of the TOY STORY movies with Jude and Teagan as they got older. There are a lot of great Disney/Pixar films but to be honest, the TOY STORY series will always be top on my list. That being said, when we first heard about TOY STORY 4 being in the works the whole family was super excited to see the release date and trailers. Once we saw the trailers and saw our favorite friends and a few new friends we were ready!
Yesterday we had a fun adventure to the movie theater with Grandma to see TOY STORY 4!! FINALLY the time was here! What a fun way to spend a day of summer break! When the lights dimmed and the familiar song began we were all itching to see how this favorite story would continue! While I do not want to give anything away I want to be clear, this is a perfect family movie.
About TOY STORY 4:
Woody (voice of Tom Hanks) has always been confident about his place in the world, and that his priority is taking care of his kid, whether that’s Andy or Bonnie. So, when Bonnie’s beloved new craft-project-turned-toy, Forky (voice of Tony Hale), declares himself as “trash” and not a toy, Woody takes it upon himself to show Forky why he should embrace being a toy. But when Bonnie takes the whole gang on her family’s road trip excursion, Woody ends up on an unexpected detour that includes a reunion with his long-lost friend Bo Peep (voice of Annie Potts). After years of being on her own, Bo’s adventurous spirit and life on the road belie her delicate porcelain exterior. As Woody and Bo realize they’re worlds apart when it comes to life as a toy, they soon come to find that’s the least of their worries. Directed by Josh Cooley (“Riley’s First Date?”), and produced by Mark Nielsen (associate producer “Inside Out”) and Jonas Rivera (“Inside Out,” “Up”).
Should You Plan A Trip To The Theater To See TOY STORY 4?
Going to the theater as a family can be pricey but guys, this one is a must see. Once TOY STORY 4 is in theaters I highly suggest picking a hot summer afternoon to take the kids into the nice cool theater and enjoy a little fun with your favorite TOY STORY buddies. So, the short answer is YES, so worth a trip to the theater!
The long answer…both Jude and Teagan laughed a ton in this movie and so did most of the adults around us. It was great to see our favorite TOY STORY buddies on the big screen again and we loved how they tied the past movies into this one. Disney/Pixar proved that there doesn’t need to be overly violent, crude or adult like scenes in a movie to be a HIT! While there are some new characters that are a bit creepy looking if you are not a fan of puppets there was nothing that made my super sensitive kids scared.
We had a great time at the screening and cannot wait to watch TOY STORY 4 again soon. Now, as you plan your trip to see this movie I would recommend you watching the first three TOY STORY movies, it will help your kids remember some of the characters and personalities but even if you have not seen the other movies you will really enjoy TOY STORY 4!
