It is official, school is back in session and we have a 1st and 3rd grader in our home!! Crazy!! I honestly cannot believe that the summer is already over, it went so fast. Thankfully, the kids woke up excited and ready to go back to school now hopefully that lasts for a few weeks! Once again we are thrilled to be at the art magnet school here in our school district! Last year was an incredible year even though we were all nervous about the big transition from a small school to a public school.
First Day of School Pictures
Since Jude’s first day of preschool I have been creating a chalkboard with some fun facts and information for our first day of school pictures. I loved doing this but when I had to start making two every year it got a bit overwhelming. I found a pre-printed chalkboard and decided to give myself a break from here on out and use this option instead! So much easier!!
Jude is going into the 3rd grade! So crazy!! He wants to be a scientist and loves reading, battle-bots and board games. His favorite color is still yellow and he is 9 years old. We are super excited to see how this year goes for him. 3rd grade is a big transition year and I think he is ready!
Thankfully he is in class with some of his really good friends from last year. He woke up excited to head back to school. Right now his biggest worry for this new school year is having to take the standardized tests in school for the first time. Silly guy, he has months to prepare and we know he will do fantastic no matter what!
Hello sassy 1st grader!! No more little girl here. This one is growing up way too fast. Notice her fancy shoes, dress, new haircut and lipstick. Oh man!! We are in for it! A few days ago Teagan decided that she wanted to have shorter hair, so we made her a haircut appointment. They cut 7 inches off!! When they did that I died a little but her hair looks so cute and so much healthier. And she loves it! What a great confidence boost the day before school starts!
Teagan loves animals, playing with friends and painting. She is 6 years old and wants to be a storyteller when she grows up – ADORABLE! We really lucked out with her classmates this year, most of her little buddies are in the same class with her again. We are missing her BFF but thankfully they will get lunch and recess together.
While it is hard to see Jude and Teagan grow up so quickly it is fun too. I absolutely love seeing these milestones and looking back at how they have changed and grown.
How was your child’s first day of school? What do they want to be when they grow up?
