This time of year the flavors change.  Fall brings great dishes for all occasions and I especially love to kick up my baking game during this time of the year.  These flavorful Browned Butter Pecan Toffee Bars are a game changer for dessert.  Packed full of delicious pecans and toffee…what more could you ask for?  Oh chocolate chips of course!!

Browned Butter Pecan Toffee Bars

Ingredients

1 1/2 C unsalted sweet cream butter, melted and cooled
1 1/2 C light brown sugar
2 large eggs
2 tsp pure vanilla extract
1 1/2 C flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp kosher salt
1 C chopped pecans
1 C chocolate chips
1 C toffee bites
1 Can of Sweetened Condensed milk

Directions

1. Heat oven to 350 degrees and line a 13×9 baking pan with parchment paper.

2. Using a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium to high heat.

3. As the butter begins to melt, swirl the pan around. When the butter starts to bubble, let it sit for 3/4 minutes to allow it to deepen.

4. Remove from heat and whisk in brown sugar.

5. Allow the butter/sugar mixture to cool to room temperature.

6. Whisk in the eggs and vanilla until combined.  Gradually whisk in the flour, baking powder and salt.

7. Scoop the dough into the baking pan.

8. Top with the toffee bites, chocolate chips and chopped pecans.

9. Pour can of sweetened condensed milk on top.

10. Bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes.

11. Allow to cool completely before cutting into bars.  Enjoy!

Perfect Fall Dessert

While this dessert has a lot of steps that are important to follow perfectly, I have to say, the work and process is so worth is.  I am a big fan of pecans and toffee so while I was a bit nervous to give this recipe a try I am so happy I took the time to make these delicious Browned Butter Pecan Toffee Bars.

As a warning…your house will smell amazing during this process.  Find a perfect chilly fall day to enjoy this recipe and cozy up on the couch with a good book while the bars are baking, hello FALL!!!
