Well, I am embarrassed to admit that my big 2019 reading goal was not even close to being met – sometimes reading is a way for me to escape reality but the last half of 2019 life became too cluttered for it to be an escape. I found that sitting down to read was actually really hard for me and my brain. But, the last week of 2019 I picked up Ghosted: A Novel by Rosie Walsh that I started back in June and decided I needed to finish this book! I am so glad I picked that book up when I did – not only was it a great read but it gave me my passion for feeling a book in my hands again.
Today I am sharing my 14th book read in 2019 – Ghosted: A Novel By Rosie Walsh.
Book 14 Read of 2019
Ghosted: A Novel by Rosie Walsh
When Sarah meets Eddie, they connect instantly and fall in love. To Sarah, it seems as though her life has finally begun. And it’s mutual: It’s as though Eddie has been waiting for her, too. Sarah has never been so certain of anything. So when Eddie leaves for a long-booked vacation and promises to call from the airport, she has no cause to doubt him. But he doesn’t call.
Sarah’s friends tell her to forget about him, but she can’t. She knows something’s happened–there must be an explanation.
Minutes, days, weeks go by as Sarah becomes increasingly worried. But then she discovers she’s right. There is a reason for Eddie’s disappearance, and it’s the one thing they didn’t share with each other: the truth.
My Review of Ghosted: A Novel by Rosie Walsh
Like I said before, I started this book back in June and did not finish it until late December. Not because it wasn’t a good book, just because LIFE! Now, I had read about 180 pages of this book back in the summer and the evening that I picked up the book to finally finish it, I read over nearly 200 pages and stayed up until 1am finishing it! IT WAS SO GOOD!!
I was captivated by the ongoing mystery of who was who and what was the truth. Plus I really started caring deeply for Sarah. I needed her to be happy. I needed her to find her person! While I do not think that Sarah was truly Ghosted in this book, I did understand that need for her to find some kind of closure from Eddie.
This was not your typical love story, chic lit novel. There was a bit of suspense through out which gave the novel a little more excitement. If I had been in the right head space back in the summer this would have been a 2 day read for me for sure! I was totally invested in making sure Sarah and Eddie connected again.
There was a bit of back and forth through “time” that could be confusing for some but in general I would consider Ghosted a pretty easy and enjoyable book. I would recommend this book to anyone that loves a good love story, chic lit and a bit of suspense. I would add this to any vacation reading list.
Well book number 14 for 2019 is in the books! I am currently reading another book that I picked up while Christmas shopping, as I type this, I have 2 days to finish it in 2019…wondering if I will be able to officially say I read 15 books in 2019 rather than 14!! We will see. No matter when I finish my current book, I am excited to start 2020 on a reading spree in hopes of a great reading year again!
