Valentine’s Day Treats

I am all about easy treats and Puppy Chow is one of those treats.  Not only is it one of my very favorite treats to enjoy but this recipe can be done in just a few minutes and can be switched up to match any special occasion or holiday by simply adding some seasonal candy or sprinkles.  With Valentine’s Day just around the corner I thought it would be fun to share a Valentine’s Day inspired Puppy Chow recipe.  I am lucky enough to spend Valentine’s Day with my two favorite Valentines, Jude and Teagan, up in Estes Park at the YMCA.  I will be bringing this yummy treat with us as we cozy up in the beautiful snow covered mountains for the weekend!

As you prepare for your Valentine’s Day weekend make sure you also check out this super sweet 2 Ingredient Strawberry Fudge recipe that is sure to make your Valentine smile.  Yes…TWO ingredients!!

Ingredients:

1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
1/4 cup butter
1 cup milk chocolate chips
1 tsp vanilla
9 cups Chex cereal
3 cups powdered sugar
1 cup M&Ms
Sprinkles of your choice

Directions:

1. Combine the peanut butter, butter, and chocolate chips in a medium microwavable bowl.

2. Microwave mixture for 1 minute, then stir until melted and creamy. Add vanilla and stir until completely combined.

3. Add Chex cereal to a large bowl and pour chocolate mixture over cereal.

4. Using a spatula, carefully mix the cereal and chocolate mixture making sure the chocolate is evenly coated on the cereal.  Do this slowly so the cereal is not crushed.

5. Sprinkle powdered sugar over cereal and once again, using the spatula, carefully mix the cereal and have the powdered sugar coat the cereal evenly.

6. Add M&Ms and sprinkles to the bowl and toss!

7. Let chocolate set for a few minutes before serving.  ENJOY!!

So easy right?  This is sure to be a hit with anyone.  This is a great treat to make ahead of time for parties or travel on Valentine’s Day weekend.  I know Jude and Teagan will love digging into this festive Cupid Chow.  Candy, Peanut Butter and Chocolate…what more could you ask for on Valentine’s Day?
