A salty, sweet, peanut buttery treat that is sure to tackle those cravings.  This easy Peanut Butter & Chocolate Covered Pretzel Rod recipe mimics a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup with an added crunch of a pretzel!

Reese's Pretzels - Peanut Butter & Chocolate Pretzel Rods. chocolate covered pretzels. peanut butter and chocolate pretzels. Reese's Peanut Butter Pretzels. Easy desserts. Chocolate dipped pretzels.

During the lockdown the kids and I found a new snack that we have bought way too much of – chocolate covered pretzels.  YUM!!  I think we all enjoy that sweet and salty combo.  I decided that instead of buying our favorite chocolate covered pretzels I would make some of our own.  When I started dipping the pretzel rods into the milk chocolate I got the idea of creating a few other flavor combos and this one I had to share!

Peanut Butter & Chocolate Covered Pretzel Rods

It is kind of silly to call this a recipe because it is so easy to make but it is a treat that I believe everyone who loves a good Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup will enjoy!  The combination of sweet and salty with the combination of chocolate and peanut butter?  YES PLEASE!!  I promise these Peanut Butter & Chocolate Covered Pretzel Rods will become a favorite in your house too!

Ingredients:

1 cup chocolate chips
1/2 cup Reese’s Peanut Butter Chips
Eight pretzel rods

Directions:

1. Melt the chocolate chips in the microwave or a double boiler; I prefer to use a microwave and a canning jar for this recipe because it makes dipping so easy.

2. Dip all 8 pretzels in the melted chocolate chips, try to get as much of them covered as possible.

3. Lay them on parchment paper.

4. Next, melt the peanut butter chips in a microwave or double boiler.

5. Drizzle the melted peanut butter chips over the pretzel rods.

6. Let cool and set in the refrigerator and serve.

Easy Treat To Share

Like I said, this recipe is so easy to make but it really does smash a lot of those cravings – salty, sweet, chocolate, crunchy.  All in one delicious pretzel rod!  YUM!  It is really interesting how this lockdown has brought so many new cravings to me and my kids.  Kind of crazy what a slow down can do to your normal habits.

While it is easy to head to the store to get chocolate covered pretzels, I have been having fun making these treats with Jude and Teagan.  They enjoy eating their creations too!
