Hip Hip Hurray! March has finally come around which means that Spring is around the corner! I know that you can’t help but want to start making everything fresh and clean as soon as possible because if you’re like me, something about being cooped up all winter long allows me to get excited to clean and make my home feel new again. Below are a few spring cleaning tips I have for those busy parents to not only spring clean the inside of your home but also the outside.
Spring Cleaning Tips For Inside And Outside Your Home
Clean Where You Keep Food
Make sure that you clean not only the refrigerator where you keep your food but also the pantry where you store food as well. Over the year, things get shoved into the back of those areas, forgotten about, and then eventually expire over time. It’s best to get all of that out before you need to grab something that you want to make. This goes for the refrigerator as well. Keeping it clean will also prevent any bad odors from developing and probably cut down on the number of times someone has to wonder if the ketchup or other condiments are still good to use.

Wash Disposal, Sink and Trash Can
You might not think about it but you also want to clean the items that you clean things with. This means cleaning your sink with soap and water from all the times you’ve washed endless dishes with food on them. Spray a mist of vinegar and a small mist of hydrogen peroxide to disinfect. One of the easiest ways to clean your disposal is to put a few lemons, salt, and ice cubes down and cold water to let it kill the bad odors and residue. You can also purchase a premade disposal deodorizer if you don’t have any of these items at once. Lastly, you can’t forget to clean the trash can. While this might seem like something you should do, it’s super important. Use a pressure washer hose to wash your trash can and let it air dry overnight upside down.

Check For Water Damage
One of the biggest mistakes people forget is how cold maybe some of the rooms felt from any drafts you had from the winter. It might be cheaper to repair all these little things before everyone is rushing to do them in the fall but it will also save you money throughout the year on heating and cooling your home to make sure everything is properly sealed. You should also be sure to take time to look for any water spots to make sure that no snow has leaked anywhere. Water damage is something that can sneak up on you because the little spots look small but it’s not a reason to ignore it for a later time.

Look At The Outside
Spring cleaning might seem just like an indoor chore however you should check the exterior of your home as well. Take a walk around your home and check for any peeling paint, chipped or damaged siding, or any other with dings that your home might be trying to show you. There might be a few things you can touch up yourself however if you need a professional to come help you, be sure to call a company that is reputable and trustworthy. If your siding was damaged due to bad weather, Brazilian Wood Depot offers a service to help not only provide a quality product but one that is sure to improve the quality and look for your home. They have a variety of sidings including Ipe rain-screen siding with its rich brown and red amber hues it’s a beautiful character and warmth to any home. Kids Area
Be sure to clean your kid’s toys when it comes to cleaning which means not to just throw them in a pile and forget about them but dive deep into sorting what they love, could donate, or give away. This also goes for outside toys or items they don’t ride or use anymore too. Have them help you wash their playground set on a nice day to get rid of old bugs, leaves, and debris that sat there for months. Once it’s done, enjoy the time outside in the sunshine!
Spring Cleaning does not have to be done on a weekend or a day. It’s important to have a cleaning session once the cold of winter has eased up. Both the interior and exterior of your home in the spring also help you start the year off on the right food when you have everything you use daily in order. You never know, you might even inspire your neighbors to start their spring cleaning too!
