Spring Break Fun At Gaylord Rockies
When I sat down to start planning our spring break I knew that we wouldn’t be jumping on a plane but I did want the kids to have some fun. Gaylord Rockies was the PERFECT addition to our spring break fun. After a day at the zoo, some Top Golf, and a sleep over with cousins we knew that we needed a little resort fun at the Gaylord!
In true Gaylord fashion, they created a fun Spring it On deal that is perfect for this season leading up to summertime. The whole resort was decorated in spring flowers and Easter bunnies. No matter the season, the Gaylord always looks so beautiful.
ABOUT GAYLORD ROCKIES
This was our fourth time visiting the Gaylord Rockies and like our other visits, we were blown away at the beauty and excitement of this resort. The building is gorgeous and it seems like there are endless photo opportunities through out the building. I wish I could tell you how many photos I took in two days but that just isn’t possible! HA!
The Gaylord of the Rockies Resort and Convention Center is located off of E-470 and Pena Boulevard in Denver. Just southwest of the Denver Airport. A great location for those looking for a great place to visit for some great holiday fun for the family. In true Colorado fashion there is an amazing mountain view of the Rocky Mountains and the Front Range and the interior décor brings a perfect rustic charm to the hotel. Honestly, my photos do not do this space justice. It is breathtaking! Gaylord Rockies is the perfect getaway for the holidays and for summertime, no matter the season, you will enjoy your time at the Gaylord Rockies.
Comfortable Escape
We checked in – contactless check in is the way to go – and walked into our home away from home. A super comfortable and spacious double queen mountain view room. The first thing Jude commented about was the pillows – “The Gaylord has the most comfortable pillows!” Now that is how to enjoy your spring break!
There is always so much to do at the Gaylord, on the evening we checked in, we decided to hit up the delicious Vista Montagne Italian restaurant on the resort property. After our dinner we walked around the resort just checking out the amazing decor and doing the fun Easter Bunny Scavenger hunt. Our evening was perfect and it gave us plenty of time to gear up for a day full of fun the following day!
Swimsuits & Snow Boots!
Yes, we are in Colorado….yes, we went swimming just a few weeks after a blizzard hit. That is what is great about Gaylord Rockies. Not only do they have an amazing indoor pool but the outdoor pool is heated and open year round. For the record…yes you can get sunburned, as a Colorado native you would think I would learn my lesson.
Pool Reservations
Due to state and local restrictions limiting capacity at Arapahoe Springs pools and to allow for proper social distancing, we are requiring reservations for our indoor pool. Please note that due to state and local restrictions, pool capacity at Arapahoe Springs indoor pool is severely limited. The Lazy River opens for the season on March 15. Pool reservations are for registered guests only. The reservations are for a duration of two hours and are limited to one reservation per stay. At the end of each session, the pools will close for cleaning and sanitation. Current state and local mandates require that masks or face coverings be worn at the indoor pool at all times unless you are actively swimming.
Indoor and Outdoor Swimming
We enjoyed our two hour indoor pool reservation with a ton of trips down the slides, playing catch with a beach ball and some super fun entertainment from Duke Daffodil and Duchess Dahlia. These crazy characters facilitated a ton of pool games for the kids and provided some fun music too. It was so great to see the kids getting excited to win fun prizes like beach balls and free Kona Ice!
The outdoor pool area was were we spent a lot of the afternoon. The family hot tub was perfect and when we really wanted to brave the Colorado spring weather we took a dip in the heated pool. Getting out the pool was the worst part – SO COLD! While we did not venture down to the Lazy River, it is open now! I cannot wait to visit in the summer to enjoy that Lazy River again!
