Jeremy won.
He saved his Amazon gift cards and decided he would get that DSLR camera he had been drooling over for years.

So yup, we are a DSLR camera family now.  After only having time for one outing with it so far, we are hoping that for our visit to Jeremy’s parents this weekend we will find our groove and start snapping some amazing pictures.

On Saturday we took it to the splash park.  Here are a couple of pictures just to show off.

We finally decided on a Nikon D3100.  Thank you to all of our friends who helped us decide!

While these are amazing shots I do have to say I will have a hard time saying good-bye to my little camera while getting used to carrying that HUGE machine!  lol

Any tips for baby/child handling while also carrying this precious piece of plastic?

Any camera tips?

HELP!

Get a comfy strap! I lug mine over my back ,cross body, when not in use at a wedding so it's readily available for candid moments, but not in the way.

Yup! Agree with Shannon – get a nice comfy strap and a little camera bag just for the camera when you're on day trips vs a big camera bag with your extra lenses etc. Also…I would suggest to make your pics bigger on the blog now so we an fully appreciate them!

I was just thinking of what Sarah was saying – bigger pictures please!! For a big bag – find one that will fit your camera/lens and a few other things! I use mine as a bag to hold everything rather than having multiple bags/purse when we go out w/ it.

And just practice practice practice and take the camera out of automatic mode!
