Yesterday Jeremy had his reconstructive surgery to hopefully FINALLY heal this wound from the ileostomy surgery he had in January 2013.
The surgery went well. They had to only use his right leg for the muscle flap and also didn’t need a skin graft! Woohoo! 2 less wounds to worry about. The surgery took a good 5 hours and yesterday he was in a TON of pain. Today he seems to be handling the pain better. The pain is mostly from the leg where they removed the muscle.
The plan:
He is on bed rest for today (Tuesday) and then tomorrow he will be getting up out of bed with the assistance of Physical Therapy and start walking around. The hope is that he will get to come home either Thursday or Friday! YAY! He is on a regular diet today and is enjoying breakfast now.
This is a giant step into the HEALING PROCESS! We are so blessed with amazing friends and family. The support we have had is unbelievable. We are hoping that we will NEVER need that kind of support again!
So here we are, chilling in the hospital again. BUT this time it is like we are on a cruise! HA!

Hospital Hospitality!
I hope that by the end of the week I have my hubby at home with us!

Ugh I hope that this is IT for you guys and 2014 will be a healthier year!
Thoughts for a speedy recovery!
I hope Jeremy is on his way to a fast recovery, and you can enjoy the holidays with your family!!! Also? Those swans are pretty hysterical in a hospital!
