Last time I updated you all on Jeremy we had just met with a surgeon about a procedure that would hopefully heal this wound that JUST WON’T HEAL!  That was in late October.
Here we are in December now…
Finally after a lot of run around with surgeons Jeremy got a surgery scheduled for December 9th!  Finally! We are unbelievably happy that the surgery is well before the end of the year so that we do not have to worry about yet another medical bill.
The plan – Monday December 9th 2013 – exactly 11 months post ileostomy surgery he will be having another major surgery.  On December 9th a plastic surgeon will use some muscle from his thigh to heal this wound.  We are hopeful that this muscle will instantly heal that open cavity and we can finally move forward with our lives.
For 11 months Jeremy has been visiting doctors and nurses on a daily basis.  He is so done with that, and so am I.
We are told that this surgery will take 4-6 hours.  He will be in the hospital for at least 3-5 days.  His recovery away from work could be anywhere from 2-6 weeks.
We need your support.  We need your prayers.  We need this surgery to be the end of this wound.  It is time for our family to catch a break!  We are ready!
I invite you to read a theory that has helped Jeremy through this time of invisible illness.
The Spoon Theory
How many spoons do you have?
2014 we welcome you – we want you to be the year of health and happiness!
