One of my friends from High School -turned bloggy friend- invited us to her daughter’s first birthday. When I told Jude that we would be celebrating Emberlynn’s birthday at a Roller Skating Rink he was so excited. So was I! The rink that the party was at was the Wagon Wheel Roller Rink. This Rink is a staple of the town I went to school in for so many reasons!
Some of you might be wondering why a One year old would have a birthday at a rink but you see, Laura’s family owns this rink. Laura can skate in her sleep while 9 months pregnant I am sure! So we headed to the rink and when we drove up I could feel the nostalgia coming on! I remember all those school parties and late night fun with friends in middle school.
Jude was so excited to get going, NO fear. We got those 4 wheels on that boy and he was up and ready. The best part about the Wagon Wheel Rink is the wood floor. It is amazing! Not to mention the trees in the middle of the rink too! 😉 Nothing has really changed about this rink and I love that.
Jude did amazing on skates. Like I said, no fear. He just needed a little help and he was ready to go. The party was a private party, which was a great for Jude. It allowed him to get the hang of the skates with out a lot of people around him.
Teagan just danced and ran all over the floor. She was loving the freedom to run!
We had a couple VERY tired kiddos that night. After all that skating and running and dancing they were ready for bed.
Towards the end of the night Jude was ready to try skating with out holding a hand! For Jude’s first time skating I think he did a great job. He has asked over and over when we get to go skating again. Looks like we will be visiting the Wagon Wheel again soon!
If you need a family activity in Denver that brings you back to your childhood you MUST stop in at the Wagon Wheel. You will not be disappointed.
That looks so much fun! I've never tried skating before. THis is something I would definitely look if we have something like this around here. 🙂
Looks like a lot of fun!! I think I am going to take Ethan skating soon!!!
