Most of our New Years Resolutions or Goals, as I like to call them, have probably gone off of our radar but I am happy to announce that one of our 2014 Goals is still in full affect in our house! Saving Money! I announced in January that we would be doing the 52 Week Money Challenge x2 and guess what…we are still doing it! Yay us! On top of that simple savings plan we have been really focusing on the products and items we use daily and looking at how we can cut costs and save money and energy while doing so.
When I start looking around our house I see light bulbs, lots of light bulbs. I started doing some research on the cost of light bulbs and the energy that is used and found a great energy consumption calculator from GE and I was hooked! A simple change in our home could help us save money and energy. Not only is this a great thing for us as a family but also a great change for the Earth.
After doing my research I headed to Walmart to pick up 15 new GE LED Energy Smart Light Bulbs. These 15 bulbs will allow me to change the light bulbs in the kitchen, living room and bathroom – the rooms that get the most usage when it comes to lighting. I was really excited to see the different types of LED bulbs that GE has in their Energy Smart line. Even outdoor lights! Perfect for the upcoming warm weather months when we use our backyard more. I plan on purchasing some for the backyard too! More savings and less energy!
I love the 52 Week Money Challenge Jar! Great idea to help add to the savings of making the switch to LED!
Wow, you are saving quite a bit and making such a great Earth friendly difference with the simple change! #client
Awesome!
I'd like to switch and save, as long as the LED lights aren't too harsh or glaring. Thanks for the tips!
Love this! Great info! #client
