Y3W: Our Summer Garden

This summer we decided to build our own box veggie garden.  Last year Jude loved seeing his tomato plants grow on the deck and asked us if we could have a big garden.  We took on the challenge.
Our Summer Garden
While we prepped and planted the garden Jude and Teagan had fun with Jude’s new watering can that he was very proud of.  By the time the garden was done we had two very soaked kiddos!  Oh summer!  Love it!
Jude has learned how to carefully fill up his watering can with the garden hose now too.  Such concentration!

Once we planned everything out in our garden we started planting.  This year we decided to plant grape tomatoes, peas, leeks, eggplant, romaine lettuce, peppers, strawberries, and a watermelon!  Jeremy laughed at me for picking up a watermelon!  Ha!  Hey, its our first year at trying this!  😉

Now Jude’s favorite job every day is watering his garden.  We are hopeful that we will get a least something to grow besides weeds!  Fingers crossed for us!  Jude is so cute watering his garden with this watering can.  he is very careful to water every single plant!  😉
This is one of those activities that we like incorporating Montessori teachings into.  Montessori does a lot of gardening teaching in order to see the life cycle.  From planting, to watering, to harvesting.  I hope to give you lots of updates on our harvesting!!

Such adorable pictures. And look at that raised garden bed! Good work! My tomatoes are always the most successful, then I get pregnant and can't stand the smell of them hahaha, it's happened twice. All the best to you and your garden!
