August is just days away, which means soon we will be getting #Ready4Preschool in the mornings instead of sleeping in and hanging out at the park. While I am a little surprised at how fast the summer has gone so far I am also super excited for Preschool to start again for Jude. Thanks to Disney Junior we are already focusing on taking some time to sit and enjoy some great learning activities with Disney Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and Jake and the Neverland Pirates but still having fun doing it.
When I brought these Disney Junior games and learning activities home from the store Jude was immediately ready to sit down and see what it was all about. The Disney Junior Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Learning Schoolhouse Activity set is amazing! I promise your Preschooler will love it and so will you, I feel like we will not only use this set for the rest of the summer but will focus on using this set on the days that Jude does not go to school this year. What a great way to keep learning even when not at school!
The best part about these great Disney Junior back to school items is that Jude totally thinks they are games and toys but guess what? They are more than that – he is learning and loving it. I picked up a few of the great priced activity packs with his favorite characters to use when we are on long car rides or at church on Sundays. These activities are great because they include everything you would need to achieve the learned activity in the pack. Our favorite so far has been Jake and the Neverland Pirates Rhyming Learning Activity! It kept Jude busy all morning in church!
So why am I worried about getting some learning in right now? Prepping Jude for Preschool isn’t just about getting new shoes, clothes and a fun backpack – for Jude it is all about remembering how to sit and focus on a project. While we are thankful for the Montessori Program he attends and love that it isn’t about sitting in a desk all day we do understand that Jude’s wild imagination and active body makes it hard for him to sit and focus on any work, even if that work is something “active”.
Have you heard of the summer slide? Being that Jude is in Preschool I do not mean the summer slide of reading or math skills but just the basic daily school routines and expectations. For the last 2 months Jude has been on overdrive, he doesn’t sit or walk he RUNS…its like he knows what summer break is all about already.
To combat Jude’s version of the Summer Slide we are making an effort to bring him to a quiet space at least once a day and let him focus on some learning activities. Since these learning activities involve his favorite Disney Junior characters he is loving this new summer routine.
I never want school or learning to become a boring or hated thing for my children so making sure we encourage our kiddos to study and use their precious brains every day even at home! As busy working parents sometimes it is hard to exactly figure out what activity can be done to promote this learning but with these great options from Disney Junior we are set!
With these learning activities we have been able to really focus on some great things that I think will surprise his teacher in the fall. Telling time, finding his state on the map and some writing too. While I love these kits I am super happy with the portability of the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Learning Activity, there is so much in this kit that I worried it would become a mess but thankfully Disney Junior knew that moms like me wouldn’t be happy with a mess…even an educational mess. This kit is perfect for our lifestyle. We get it out, Jude does some activities and everything fits into the folders nicely! Boom! Disney Junior for the win!!!
Now I know this might surprise all of you but Jude’s favorite part about having time for school at home is this fun Mickey Mouse Clubhouse hand pointer. HA! Not surprised. The bossy Jude comes out with this pointer too but so does his imagination. He was playing and teaching school to himself and it was the coolest thing to watch. Coming from a family that both of my parents were teachers I certainly played school a lot and I love watching my own child do it years later.
I must say, Disney Junior certainly had their thinking caps on when they created this great line of Disney Junior Back to School Activities, Games and Sets. I am already thinking about stocking up on some of these other items for birthday presents and Christmas gifts because I know Jude would love to enjoy all of these fun but educational Disney Junior games.
I was pleasantly surprised at the whole Disney Junior Back to School activities and educational fun that we found while browsing for activities for Jude at Walmart. The prices are great and the products are high quality. I know that we will be using these Disney Junior branded items through out the school year to keep Jude on track and #Ready4Preschool!
How do you make sure your child doesn’t participate in the Summer Slide?
I love activities that are fun and colorful. Kids dont realize they are learning.
My son loves Disney Junior. He is starting Kindergarten this year but he would love these activities…they look like a lot of fun and he will learn something.
Love this – parents often forget that the ability to focus is an important part of learning. I love these activities to help counteract the summer slide (or as my tweens like to call it – brain drain).
Ha….I like that MIckey Mouse pointer too! That would be fun to have in the house! I love that there are a wide variety of items you can find at Walmart…..great for road trips or airplane trips too!
Well this looks fun ! I may try to get a fewof these for my god daughter .. thank you so much for sharing information on this product !
My grandkids would love this. I have 4 that are preschool age and it's so important for them to start learning early.
What fun activities! My boys would love those!
We enjoyed these packs this past week! SO fun all the while being educational! Winning!
