Last weekend we had a big family and friends reunion
at our place since Jeremy’s sisters family was visiting Colorado all the way
from Amsterdam.  To make this a festive
fun summer BBQ I decided to get a little creative and spruce up the house for a
Luau!  I mean, come on, who doesn’t love
a luau?
I will go into more detail about our party and
supplies in another post but I could not wait any longer to show off what my
mother-in-law and I created the night before the big shindig!  Check this out!

Yes, friends that is a door wreath made out of those fun little cocktail paper umbrellas!  So cute!  Not only is this perfect for any Luau Party but I know this will be our door wreath for summers to come.  It is so bright and fun!  Summertime!!

How to Make Your Own Paper Umbrella Luau Door Wreath

What you will need:
Small Paper Cocktail Umbrellas (at least 100)
Foam Wreath (I used a 14 inch)
Ribbon of your choice
Strong thumbs and a good helper to open all the umbrellas for you! Thank you to my MIL!

Instructions:
Not much to these instructions because this door wreath is by far one of the easiest door wreaths I have ever created!  But it is now my favorite!
Step 1 – Find a helper to unwrap and open about 100 paper umbrellas for you!  (hardest part of the creation!)
Step 2 – Using the toothpick end of the umbrellas strategically place them into the foam wreath.  I started in one place and worked my way around the wreath.  There is no certain pattern or way to do this, use your eyes for the perfect color combos and placements.
Step 3 – Hang a ribbon on your wreath for easier displaying.  The umbrellas really make this wreath thick which means it is hard to hang on just a wreath hanger.
Step 4 – ENJOY!  Believe me you will get complements on this creation!  Have fun!!

I cannot wait to share the rest of our fun Luau Family and Friends Reunion BBQ with you all soon.  It has been a busy week in our home with lots of family adventures and fun.  I promise to update you on that as well.
Happy Crafting!

Very cute and easy idea! The worst part is opening them all up, but totally worth it!
