Disclosure: I was provided this GeoSafari® Jr. My First Microscope free of charge in return for my honest review.
Jude gets his science interest and knowledge from his grandma. The two of them spend hours every day discussing science topics or as Jude says “time to study”. I love that Jude is so into science. He is very interested in knowing all of the systems of the human body, insects, and all things nature and dirt. Recently, my mom and I had discussed finding him a Microscope so he could start studying some of the things he finds outside. We looked all over for something that my parents to give to him for his birthday but we came up empty handed.
When I had the opportunity to review the GeoSafari® Jr. My First Microscope I was so excited because I knew that Jude would pretty much freak out when he saw it. I was right, Jude went around the house and the yard finding objects he wanted to study with his new Microscope.
This set comes with a large tray that means he can literally study anything. Thankfully the microscope is very sturdy as well, honestly, it is Jude proof and sometimes he is pretty rough. The large chunky focusing knob makes is easy for a preschooler to adjust the height of the Microscope as well. I was also very happy to see that the Microscope came with 2 large eye holes which meant we did not have to try to teach Jude to squint with one eye to view his objects! Preschool friendly for sure!

Educational Insights suggests this product for ages 3+ and I would agree with this. Jude is 4 now and I see him being able to use this Microscope for a least a couple more years.
