Along with all of the Fall decor, celebrations, activities and food there is FOOTBALL!! Are you ready for some football? How about some Denver Broncos football? No? Okay, okay, I do not expect ALL of you to love the Broncos but I am sure there is some sports team that you adore. Why not let your neighbors know who you are cheering for on the weekends?
I decided that we needed to dress up our front door on game days. I happened to come across some great orange and blue yarn at the craft store and instantly knew I HAD to get crafty with it.
Denver Broncos Door Wreath #DIY
Introducing our Denver Broncos Door Wreath! Cute right? Let me tell ya, cute and simple! I love me some great crafts that are SIMPLE!!
Supplies you will need:
1 Styrofoam wreath – size is your choice
Hot Glue/Glue Gun
Paint Brush
Paint – color of your choice
Letter Stickers – color of your choice
Wooden Footballs
Wooden Banner
Yarn – colors of your choice
Paint Brush
Paint – color of your choice
Letter Stickers – color of your choice
Wooden Footballs
Wooden Banner
Yarn – colors of your choice
Obviously, I did everything in Bronco Orange and Blue!
Directions:
1. Begin by painting the wooden banner (color of your choice). Set aside and let dry completely!
2. While the paint is drying start wrapping the yarn around the Styrofoam wreath. Do this slowly and tightly. Making sure to cover all of the Styrofoam. I said this wreath was simple but it does take some time to cover the whole wreath with yarn. I suggest doing this while watching your favorite team play!
3. Once you cover the entire wreath, tie the ends so that the wrap will stay put. There is no RIGHT way to do this – just do it! HA!
4. Create a “hanger” out of the same yarn.
5. Now that the wreath is full of yarn, it is time to decorate the painted wooden banner. I hot glued 2 wooden footballs to the banner and then put the “DENVER BRONCOS” letters on the banner. Again, no RIGHT way to do this. Get creative!
6. Now for the hardest part of the wreath. Securing the banner to the wreath. I used about a 5 inch piece of yarn to secure the banner. Simply tie the small piece of yarn through the wrapped yarn on the wreath.
7. Too add a little more FOOTBALL power I hot glued another wooden football to wear I tied the banner to the wreath. Hiding the extra knot as well!
8. Lastly, find the perfect place for your wreath! Display your team with pride!!
Which team and colors would you use on your door to decorate on game day?
Cute!
I'm currently making a longhorns wreath with yarn, it takes FOREVER!
