I don’t know about you but when the weather turns cold and snowy something changes in my belly and brain – bring on the cooking and comfort food! Soups, Casseroles, Crock Pot Meals and one of my favorites Chicken Pot Pie. Yum!! Now, most of you know that I live in Colorado; if you know anything about Colorado it is probably that our weather is very predictable and my predictable I mean it can change by the minute. That is about the only thing to predict about the weather here. While I would love to tell you that I stick to my weekly meal plans that is not always the truth, especially when our backyard starts to look like a winter wonderland. That is when I am thankful for my freezer that is full of Marie Callender’s Pot Pies!
Believe me, I love making my homemade Chicken Pot Pies but sometimes when the craving of a delicious comfort food like a pot pie hits when our schedules are just too busy for me to spend the time in the kitchen After searching for an alternative I found Marie Callender’s and amazingly enough Marie Callender’s tastes like homemade! Oh and and in less time! Bonus!!
When the cold weather shows its face I simply run to my freezer and get this perfect family friendly meal baking. This really is the perfect meal for busy weekends during the winter. When we get home from swimming lessons or any of our fun holiday traditions I know that we have a meal that will warm us up and keep us in the winter spirit.
Every Marie Callender’s pot pie shares and delivers the true sense of homemade. Honestly, with the Homemade gravy mixed with vegetables and all white-meat chicken, in a homemade golden, perfectly flaky crust you would think that I spent hours making this delicious meal. Not to mention that when this is baking in the kitchen our house smells amazing! So good!
Everyone is talking about the cold weather but once you sit down to dinner with the family and enjoy your Marie Callender’s Chicken Pot Pie you will be warmed from the inside out and left feeling nostalgic and ready to build a snowman! Bring it on winter – we are ready to indulge in the goodness of all the comfort foods!
Make sure you head to Walmart before the next cold front and pick up some of the new Family Size Marie Callender’s Chicken Pot Pies and stock up your freezer. These Family Size meals are perfect for guests too. Simpy stop in at the Walmart Bakery and pick up some fresh baked rolls to pair with your pies. Some of my favorite bread to pair with Chicken Pot Pies are Ciabatta rolls, Demi baguettes, or a Garlic loaf.
Oh and just because you are probably wondering – yes these Marie Callender’s Pies are toddler approved! Their favorite part – the golden flaky crust.
What comfort foods do you crave when the snow and cold hits?

I like that it is a family size. I think we would fight over the crust though.
