Winter is here – in fact here in Colorado we might be getting snow today!  Yikes!!  When winter is approaching there are a lot of winterizing processes that we have to do around our house; blowing out the sprinklers, cleaning the gutters, and winterizing the lawn; just to name a few things.  Well did you ever think that your skin needs to be winterized as well?  Especially those two things you walk on EVERY DAY!  Foot Care should be an important part of your routine, especially in the winter.  Here are some great Foot Care Tips for the Winter that I hope you consider to make those feet of yours happy and healthy this Winter.

While most of these seem like no brainers – how many of you do them on a regular basis?  My goal this winter is to take care of my skin but most importantly my feet.  I certainly do not have time or money to go to the spa every week so I will be following these tips and do my own spa at home pedicure to keep my feet in great condition.

I know in the climate in Colorado the moment the cold air hits my skin gets super dry, rough and flaky.  My feet take the brunt of it for some reason.  I am so used to wearing flip flops all through the summer but once it is cold I bundle my poor feet and from that moment all moisture is lost.  I find myself with sore feet a lot of the winter and I really think it is because of my lack of Foot Care through out the winter months.

Tip 1:  Use Salt Scrub

Salt Scrub can be a part of your daily shower routine.  This is a perfect way to keep your feet nice and moist by removing the dead skin.  It also exfoliates the skin.  I like doing this almost daily while in the shower because it is very quick and easy.  I have found that making my own Salt Scrub like this Lavender Vanilla Salt Scrub is super easy too!  It is like bringing the expensive spa right into your shower!  Also, you can use this on all of your body, not just feet!  Your skin will thank you!

Tip 2:  Buff Away Rough, Dry Skin

One of the best parts about going to the spa to get a Pedicure is the amount of buffing they do for you.  The skin that is hindering your feet from getting moisture is removed!  Well, I have a secret.  There is a new gadget that needs to become a part of your foot care routine this winter.  The Amopé Pedi Perfect is available at Target and it is amazing.  Whenever I did at home pedicures I never felt like I got rid of the rough, dry skin but once I started using this I can now do my at home pedicures with out any trouble.  Also, it totally feels amazing when using it.

Tip 3:  Keep Nails Trimmed

Seems easy, but let’s be honest with each other here.  When was the last time you trimmed your own toenails?  I am guilty that most of the time I am waiting until the lady and the spa does it for me. Keep your feet nice looking and feeling great in those closed toe winter shoes by keep up with this.

Tip 4:  Use Foot Cream

To accompany the new Amopé Pedi Perfect make sure you also pick up some Amopé Foot Cream.  I have a cabinet full of creams and lotions but some of them seem to make my dry skin worse.  The Amopé Foot Cream adds moisture for even softer, healthier feet.  This is another step that you can do daily, maybe before heading to work or before bed.  This daily moisturizing foot cream helps prevent moisture loss.

Tip 5:  Wear Fluffy Socks to Bed

I am not a fan of putting on foot cream and having it rub off on my bed sheets.  One of my best tricks to keeping my feet nicely moisturized and healthy is by putting on the Amopé Foot Cream and then putting on some of my favorite fluffy socks before heading to bed.  This not only keeps my foot cream off of my bed sheets but it does amazing things for my dry feet.

While I cannot do all of these tips every day I do like to do them at least once a week when my feet start feeling dry and rough.  As winter approaches I know that my foot care tips will be helpful.  Summer is not the only time for pretty healthy feet.  I like feeling confident in my bare feet even in the winter.  No more embarrassing feet for me.

After using my Amopé Pedi Perfect and Amopé Foot Cream I know excatly what I will be getting my girlfriends for holiday gifts.  This is the perfect at home gadget to help keep everyone’s feet pretty, healthy and smooth!  Make sure you stop at the Foot Care section at Target and check these products out for yourself.
Here are some great promotions that should make you run to Target:
  • Target gift card offer: 11/9 – 11/22 purchase one Pedi Perfect and receive a $5 Target gift card
  • Cartwheel offer: 11/2 – 11/22 for 10% off: http://cartwheel.target.com/offer/20183
I promise you will start a new foot care routine this winter once you try the Amopé!

Love the tips. I need to get better about the salt scrubs, but I love my socks. And I think I'm falling in love with the Pedi Perfect, too! #client
