Delightful Grilled Pizza Sandwich with Sara Lee®

The year is full of busy times but this time of the year I find myself wondering what to feed my family in all the hustle and bustle!  Frankly, I run out of ideas but when I found the opportunity to work with Sara Lee®  Delightful Breads I knew that I could get creative in the kitchen! 

Sara Lee® has a way of making sandwiches perfect.  Now, I am big on making hot sandwiches like grilled cheese, meatball, and ham and cheese sandwiches.  They are super easy to make and the perfect winter dinner that will warm you up from the inside out and remind you of your childhood.  Yum!  We all know that bread can add calories to your meals and that is why some people avoid sandwiches but now you do not have too!  
The New Year is coming and that means we are all looking to making transformations.  Well for me I usually make a resolution of losing weight – but this year I am looking to transform my sleeping habits and meal planning.  Both of those things will help me transform into a more balanced mom and wife!  
Last year around this time we made a goal to transform our financial situation.  It has almost been a year since that goal and I am proud to say that we have saved two times what we had made a goal of!  If you have followed us over the years you know that the growing medical bills we had made our financial situation SCARY.  This year we are happily focusing on doing this again and I am adding my other two transformation goals!  2015 will be a happier and healthier year!  
Like I said before, one of my transformation goals for the new year is to meal plan better and in doing so I want to be more cautious on what I am preparing for my family.  Sara Lee® Delightful Breads provide delicious taste and delightful texture with 45 calories per full-size slice. New flavor Oatmeal joins the current line which includes 100% Whole Wheat (made with real honey), Healthy Multi-Grain and Wheat.  Guess what?  All of those flavors are family approved too!  Yum!!
I decided to make my family these Delightful Grilled Pizza Sandwiches – a great twist on pizza!  This sandwich recipe is packed full of fiber, whole grains, calcium and lean protein! Sara Lee® Delightful breads are a healthier bread option and will lead to healthier meals! 

Delightful Grilled Pizza Sandwich

Ingredients:
Sara Lee® Delightful Bread of choice
Pizza Sauce
Mozzarella Cheese, shredded 
Turkey Pepperonis 
Directions:
1.  Toast Sara Lee® Delightful Bread slices in a toaster oven.  
2.  Spread pizza sauce on to the toasted bread.  
3.  Sprinkle shredded cheese on one slice of bread, over the pizza sauce.  
4.  Place Pepperonis over cheese.  
5.  Create a sandwich with a second piece of bread that has pizza sauce spread.  
6.  Heat in toaster oven for 3-5 minutes on low.  
7.  Enjoy immediately!

    That grilled pizza sandwich looks absolutely amazing! I actually have all the ingredients on hand (I love Sara Lee's 45 calories & delightful bread!) and might just have to make one of these bad boys for lunch.
