I love reading to our kids and the kids love to read. We started reading to our kids early on and truly think that the reading has helped them with their language skills and now their love for books. When I was given the opportunity to review a new book I was trilled. The night that this came to our front porch we knew exactly what book we would be reading for bedtime!
Introducing:
This House Needs a Mouse by C. Jeffery Nunnally
This book is adorable. Both Jude and Teagan loved this book and have still be looking at it and “reading” it on their own. The illustrations by Tamara Z. Brink are perfect. The colors and characters are fun and inviting.
A review:
This book is written in sequence. I love this idea because it helps children remember order and hopefully start reading on their own.

This House Needs A Mouse tells a story of a mouse who needed a home.He wanted to live in a real home, not one with a cage like in the pet store. When the mouse finds a real home, he becomes a little helper. He starts keep the house clean of crumbs. The people who brought him to his real home love that he helps clean up after them. One day they have to move due to their family growing and they need a bigger house. The mouse stays in his home.
The new family that moves into the house isn’t really mouse friendly. They do not understand how the mouse helps keep the house nice and clean of crumbs. This means they try to get rid of the mouse. Oh no! Thankfully the mouse is safe! You have to read the rest to find out what the mouse does!

Such a cute story and I love seeing Jude try to read this on his own.
