This year marks the 3rd year we have been heading to a Colorado tradition with my Aunt on MLK Day.  The National Western Stock Show is a very well known event in Denver Colorado.  The Nation Western Stock Show is the “Superbowl” of livestock shows and like I said, it is one of those things we just do in Colorado.

Jude has always had a great time at the stock show and rodeo and this year we decided to see how Teagan liked it.  Well, it was a hit for them both again.  All the animals and the rodeo makes them happy kiddos.

We weren’t sure if Teagan would be “into” the Rodeo be she was.  The moment we sat down she was taking it all in.  Asking questions and watching everything around her.  Our active wild child who usually cannot stay still sat on Jeremy’s lap for the whole thing!  Such a little cowgirl.
My aunt has a white horse named Smokey so every time Teagan saw a light colored horse she yelled “Smokey!!”  So funny!

This was Jude’s 3rd Rodeo and he knew exactly what to expect and was most excited for the Bulls and the lassoing as he calls it.  😉

Ready for the Rodeo.  Silly Jude, was so nervous for the opening fireworks.  He remembered them from last year so he had his ears covered until they went off.  Crazy boy.
These horses are amazing.  The power!

The Clydesdale Horses can make you feel tiny.  These 2,000 pound animals are amazing!!

Jude and Aunt Becky enjoying the show.  He loves his Aunt Becky.  They have a special Cowboy bond.  :O)  He is sporting the Cowboy hat that my aunt and uncle got him for Christmas too!.  Official Cowboy this year!

This very bedazzled Rodeo Queen had Teagan’s heart.  She thought her cowgirl hat was so pretty and was so excited to see her.  Diva and sparkles – oh goodness!

Teagan was totally into the show but then boom – ASLEEP!!

We stopped at the Petting Zoo before leaving too.  So many baby animals to pet and feed.

The baby pigs!!  SO CUTE!!  Even Teagan liked them.

The National Western Stock Show has so many things to look at.  We walked around and found some fun activities for the kids too.  Teagan found a saddle she had to sit on.  She was a little disappointed that she didn’t get to ride Smokey.

Jude the Cowboy!!  Yeehaw!!

Another successful day at the National Western Stock Show and Rodeo.  I know that we will continue this tradition with our family.  Even days after visiting we were still hearing all about the roping and riding and even had a mini rodeo in the house!  The kids imaginations run wild and I love it!
Any local Colorado readers head out to the National Western Stock Show this year?

Looks like everyone had a wonderful time. I remember going to the rodeo as a kid and just wanting to be old enough to enter the greased pig event. I never got to do it.
