6 Milk Alternatives if you are Lactose Intolerant
Lactose intolerance or the inability to
digest lactose is one of the most common types of food intolerance causing you
to switch to lactose
free milk. The reason for this is a deficiency of the lactase enzyme.
Without it, undigested lactose causes bloating, cramps and diarrhea within a few
hours after the intake of food containing lactose.

What can you replace milk with if you are
lactose intolerant?
Lactose free milk:
Most supermarkets sell lactose
free milk which is a good, though a bit more expensive, option for people
with lactose intolerance or those who want to prepare meals and drinks that do
not contain lactose. Lactose free milk can easily replace usual cow’s milk in
various recipes. You can even add your favorite fruits, mix everything in
blender and drink healthy smoothies.

Goat milk:
Goat milk is much healthier than cow’s
milk. Fats contained in the goat’s milk are much easier to digest. Due to the
difference in the structure of proteins, allergy to goat’s milk occurs less
frequently.

Yogurt:
Although yogurt contains a small amount of
lactose, it is much less than in cow’s milk. Yogurt also contains special
bacteria. Most people with milk intolerance can still consume yogurt. Try to
include some yogurt in your diet and watch the reaction. Combine yogurt and
fruits for preparing tasty smoothies.

you. Use it to make smoothies without lactose. Try to choose canned milk which
consists only of water and coconut.

Almond milk:
Besides the fact that almond milk does not
contain lactose, it will add a nutty flavor to your meals. Choose almond milk
without sugar. The product must not contain ingredients such as thickeners and
gums causing people with food intolerance to suffer from gastrointestinal
problems.

or refined white rice. It has a delicate sweet taste; its natural sweetness
appears during the fermentation process. Compared to cow’s milk, rice milk has
a lot of carbohydrates, B vitamins and some amount of fiber. It is the most
non-allergenic of all milk products. Due to the content of fiber and
carbohydrates this drink improves digestion.Do you use any of these Milk Alternatives in your home?
