Spring has sprung, okay I know that some of you are still dealing with snow drifts and snow days but I promise it is Spring!  I love this time of year, not just because of the great weather but also because of the holidays, events and springy colors that enter our life again.  There is something about this time of the year that makes me feel like getting creative in the kitchen with desserts and snacks for my kids but also for my coworkers.  After a long day in the office all of us deserve a fun snack that helps give us an afternoon pick-me-up so I decided to create something that would not only brighten up our office but also brighten up my coworkers moods!

Adorable right?  I love the pre-made Rice Krispies Treats on their own, especially for an afternoon treat at work but this special Spring Garden Basket makes these treats even better!  You can make these pretty quickly too, I was surprised how easy this was and let me tell ya, the chocolate and toppings totally make the already delicious treats AMAZING!

6.  Let the chocolate covered rice krispie treats harden in the refrigerator – should take about 10 minutes.

7.  Time to build your garden basket.  Using a basket, flower pot or bowl – place some wet foam flower blocks to the basket.  Strategically place the Rice Krispies Pops into the blocks.  Cover the block with decorative grass or paper.

8.  Perfect Spring Garden Basket Centerpiece to help brighten up a table!  A delicious alternative to the traditional dessert.

If you were planning on handing these out to individuals rather than serving in a group setting you could also by clear treat bags and once the treats are cooled simply wrap them up in the plastic treat bags and seal for freshness.
Leaving these on teacher’s desks before Spring Break would be a fun little gift your child could give too!  I think these would also make great party treats – totally custom by the colors of chocolate and toppings used.  Yummy!
I decided to add a little more Spring flair to my Garden Basket by creating an Easter Bunny Chocolate Covered Rice Krispies Treat!

To create these simply dip treat into melted chocolate and then dip the chocolate covered treat into shredded coconut immediately.  This creates the bunny fur.  Let the chocolate harden and then decorate with decorating frosting to make a bunny face!
