Soccer has been the sport my side of the family always participated in so I am so happy that Jude enjoys it and this season so far he has made some great improvements. Go Jude Go! Being a soccer mom is full of responsibilities, especially at this young age. The team Jude is on is mostly instructional which is perfect for his age and this means we need a lot of Sideline Heroes sitting with us on those sidelines. One of my favorite ways to be a Sideline Hero is to provide snacks for the kids after a hard practice and game.
Fresh Fruit Cones
To make these delicious treats you will need the following items:
- Waffle Cones
- Assortment of fresh fruit, cleaned
- Quart Size Zip Lock Baggies
Simple items but this snack packs a punch! It is a snack that the kids will love because it is an ice cream cone BUT it is full of delicious fruit that will refuel those soccer stars. Oh and while you will look like a overachiever on snack day, you are the Sideline Hero in the kitchen too because this snack is so easy to prepare! No stress!
Wash and prepare the fruit you will be filling the cones with, make sure the fruit is completely dry when filling the cones. I used Grapes, Blueberries, Strawberries and Raspberries in our cones. Other fruit that would be idea – pineapple, blackberries, apple slices and orange slices.
Fill the cones with an assortment of the fruit. Once filled, simply put the cone into a quart sized zip lock baggy. Single serve snack is ready!
I pair the Fresh Fruit Cones with a soccer star favorite drink to help keep the soccer stars refreshed and hydrated before, during and after games and practices. Snack Day complete! Boom!! Sideline Hero for the win!!
I love soccer days because of how adorable Jude is in his gear. Honestly, his favorite part of soccer right now is talking to his teammates and for now that is great. We laugh at the herds of 4 and 5 year olds running towards the ball not knowing the rules but it is okay! They are learning and as Sideline Heroes we soccer moms know exactly how to support and show respect to every kiddo out there on the field. This age is so much fun!
This is Jude’s first time with a coach he can call Daddy too. It has been a fun experience for Jude and Jeremy. We were worried about Jude not listening to his Dad but he is doing great. Jeremy is too! Every Saturday morning we get those boys dressed and ready for game day. Coach and Soccer Star! READY!!
Even on days that I am not scheduled to provide snacks for the team I come prepared for Jude, Jeremy and myself for a little Sideline Hero actions! Refresh, Refuel and Hydrate! Yes, even for me the soccer mom! It is hard work! Ha!
Seeing that happy smile makes my heart happy knowing that Jude is loving being active and having fun on the soccer field. My hope is that we will be a soccer family for years to come.
Looks like such a professional! Soccer is in his heart now and I love it!
What is your favorite snack to bring on snack day?
Those fruit cones are awesome. They are also perfect for parties. My son loves to have the blue Powerade after every game!!
Those cones make a great snack. I would fill them up at the practice and avoid the waste of plastic bags.
These look yummy! These would be great for playdates, parties, etc. Bonus, it's easy to make and it's a healthy snack.
how adorable! i love the fruit cones! i have baseball snack in a week, and i want to try them! thanks for the idea! 🙂
That is the cutest way of serving Fruit. I like this.
I love the fruit filled cones. Add some yogurt for a fun summer treat too.
When my older son played sports, they always loved getting the small bottles of powerade after the game and a snack. 🙂
Those cones look terrific and that is a great idea partnering them with Powerade.
This would be perfect to make for my own kids for after soccer snacks. Wish we could do it for the whole team, but we have to bring packages items.
What an awesome treat! I need to try this!
Love the idea of the fresh fruit cones!
