make your own care kits/first aid kits, sick kit, stock up on health items at walgreens
It is inevitable, we will bring the sickies home, and I cannot just blame Jude and his school friends.  When back to school season hits I am also a carrier of those sickies – working in a school is super fun when everyone is sick.  Combine Jude’s preschool germs and the germs from my work and we are fighting the sickie war all season long.
I have learned that back to school time is not only the best time to stock up on sweet new office supplies but also all the health care items we go through during the cold and flu season.  Walgreens is my go to place for all things healthcare, especially when I am ready for a big stock up.  It has become a tradition to go through our sick box and figure out what we need to be prepared for the sickies.

When it is time to stock-up on these items I do not just focus on the items we need after the sickies but also the items that will hopefully help us fight off those sickies.  I am terrible at taking vitamins, the only time I actually did it every day was during both of my pregnancies but this year I am determined to have one of the Centrum flavor burst adult chews to really boost my immune system as we head into the sickie season.  I also find that having Emergen-C on hand is very important.  Usually if I hear about a coworker being sick I make sure to drink some of my Emergen-C just to give a big BOOST!  I also keep some probiotic herbal tea in our sick box, some evenings in the Colorado cold I feel my body getting weak – but add a little warm tea and I feel human again.

Next on my shopping list – the aftermath of the sickies!!  It happens to the best of us – down for the count and the sickies win.  Time to get to feeling back to normal.  Advil both for the adults and for the kids are a must!  When I get sick I feel like my skin gets sick too, especially my lips.  ChapStick makes those rough and cracked lips hyrdrated again.  All of these items are perfect to have on hand so you do not have to run to the store in your pajamas and slippers looking like you haven’t brushed your hair in 2 weeks.

Our medicine cabinet is always full of other items like shampoo, toothpaste and body wash so in order to keep our healthcare items handy I have created a simple Sick Box to keep all of our items in.  This helps when I am down for the count and do not have to search for Advil or Robitussin.  Such a simple way to keep ahead of the game during cold and flu season.

As you begin your shopping trip to stocking up on important healthcare items make sure you make Walgreens your go to store. Like I said, it is the perfect time to stock up because if you spend $30.00 on any participating Pfizer products, you will receive 10,000 Balance rewards points!  Woohoo!!  That is huge!!  Take this easy step towards a health filled season as the kiddos head back to school.

We have a locked "sick box" down stairs in the kitchen. I has a lot of the stuff you have plus we use it to lock up any antibiotics the kids may be on. We have pro-biotics in there too to help tummies bounce back after antibiotic use.

I hadn't thought of stocking up on product for cold/flu season when stocking up on school supplies, but that's such a great time to do it! I hope I can make it to Walgreens before this deal is over! #client

I definitely need to pull together one of these around my house. It is always better to be prepared than to run around in a panic later.

It's smart to have a go-to box stocked full of all the stuff you'll need to prevent and remedy those inevitable sickies! Back to school almost always means an onslaught of colds passed around in our house!

I need to go through our medicine cabinet to toss out the old and purchase the new. Liquid advil for the younger boys is a must for me. But, I also like to have a supply of vitamins to help use stay healthy.
