I have talked about my favorite time of the year being fall here in Colorado and believe me, that is true but I will say that being a parent during the fall and winter seasons in Colorado can be difficult. The cold comes quick and that means that we no longer can head outdoors and get the kids moving and having fun. Yikes! If your kids are anything like ours, you have to have things planned for them to stay involved with inside play. About this time every year, I make sure to stock up with new creative inside play items and kits for the kids to do on days that are just too cold to head outside.
A few months ago, I saw Bunchems in the craft and activity section while trying to pick out a birthday gift for a friend, the adorable characters on the box had me wondering what these were. When I went back to the store I decided to add this kit to our cold day creative play closet. When I brought out the kit both of the kids were so excited to see what these little “furry” balls were all about. Disclosure – they are not furry but that is what Teagan calls them! Adorable!
Bunchems are colorful little balls that stick to each other and build like no other. Clean up is a breeze because they stick to each other. Get it? Bunch em! The name is just as creative as the kit! With two kids who are pretty creative and artsy it is sometimes messy when we get creative play kids like this BUT Bunchems is different. NO clean up, no glue needed, no other tools needed for hours of creative play. Love that.
The mega pack comes with over 400 pieces to get creative. Eight different colors of Bunchems and fun additions to make each character come to life. Hats, legs, eyes, mouths, wings, and other fun decorations. The instructions are simple – Squish, Connect and Create! Easy enough!
We cleared off the living room table one afternoon and let the kids go crazy. Not only were they able to use the hundreds of Bunchems to make their own creations but they also loved reading the directions for some suggested characters too. I loved seeing Teagan pick out her first creation, a unicorn, and count out the colors of Bunchems she needed to create the cute unicorn. We decided that while this was a kit for creative play we could also see the learning opportunities while she was finding the correct colors and numbers of Bunchems needed. Mom and Dad approved!!
The Bunchems Mega Pack allows your kiddos to build 36 amazing 3D creations including: owls, bears, octopi, cars and so much more! Check out some of our finished projects! Jude’s first creation was a too cool bat and Teagan’s favorite creation was her unicorn. So pretty!!
Jude is one of those kids that loves doing crafts but gets distracted easily. This kit was not like that for Jude. He literally played with the Bunchems for a couple of hours all on his own! He was able to create and recreate multiple characters and was so proud of himself when the creation was successful. I love finding products like this that fit both of my kids levels (3 and 5) and give them some great time to concentrate on something fun.
Add this creative play kit to your kid’s wish list for hours of endless creations and possibilities with out the mess of other craft kits! No mess, No glue, No Fuss!
What fun creation would you make with your kids with these fun Bunchems?
Cute! I bet my niece would love a set of these for Christmas.
Anyone thinking of buying these horrible things should do a quick Google on bunchems to find out what it will do to you child's hair. But as long as a blogger is paid to promote these awful things, it's just "bad things that happen to other people's kids".
I was just coming to say the same thing! One of my friends just posted a picture of her daughter with these thing tangled in her hair. It looked awful!
