Read
Being that this day is all about reading and a great author it is important that we all read to our kids on this day. Teachers will too! Plus, take time for yourself and sit down and escape with a book. We all deserve this! Reading to your kids – no matter their age – is important. Enjoy this time!
Craft
Finding a fun craft is pretty easy with the world of Pinterest but it might be hard to pick your favorite.
Learn
Reading certainly has it’s learning aspects but take it a step further with these Word Family Hats that are Dr. Seuss Cat in the Hat inspired. Take time to make learning fun with these printable hats. This would be a great activity to do at home after school or on the weekend.
Snacks
Just like crafts, there are so many fun themed snacks that go perfectly with Dr. Seuss’s birthday celebration. These are a few easy treats that could be taken to school or made especially for home!
Write a Story
So we are introducing the idea of more reading to the kids on this celebration but why not start teaching how authors create books for us to enjoy? This is an art that can be started at a young age and something that kids work on for a long time.
Favorite Book
Have the kids find and share their favorite book. This would be a fun activity in a classroom or daycare but especially at home. Even younger kids can do a verbal book report on why they enjoy reading their favorite books.
Enjoy Dr. Seuss’s Birthday and make sure you pick up a book and read!!
