Having a family game night just got even more fun with these creative and easy game night ideas! Easy to prepare Treats, decorations using our favorite games, and tons of colors and inspiration to brighten the mood at your next family game night!
I am really excited to share a great party idea that I had a few months ago. I was looking in my son’s closet for a game for us to play and it came to me – create a Game Night Party that people of all ages can enjoy! Playing board games is something a lot of families and friends enjoy doing together, why not make it a party the next time?
To set the stage I pulled out our Twister Game
and used the mat for the backdrop and tablecloth. This adds some color and shows exactly what we are going for at this party! Fun, games, and food!
I picked a few games that our family really enjoys and tried to do some themed treats from those games.
Candy Land Cupcakes – this is a simple treat to add to your Game Night Party. Simply make or buy cupcakes and find some colorful lollipops to stick into the tops of the cupcakes to decorate them like the Candy Land game board.
Create food stands out of some of the games you plan on playing. To still allow people to play with those games you can simply take out the game boards and pieces and set out on another table for easy use. I also found some great colorful plates and napkins that added an extra punch to my treat and refreshment table.
I wanted to create my own decorations for this party so I decided to make my own Playing Card Garland. Seriously, the easiest garland I have ever made and with a whole package of Playing Cards
it gave me plenty to make a few garlands to use around my house.
DIY Playing Card Garland
To make your own DIY Playing Card Garland you will need a deck of playing cards, a single hole puncher, and twine or string.
Steps:
Punch two holes in each card at the top of the card.
String cards onto twine.
Tie ends after your garland is long enough.
Hang with tape or push pins.
A game that I absolutely adore is Monopoly, I decided to pick up some extra Monopoly Money
and use the money as water bottle labels. Not only does this make your guests smile at the thought of grabbing the most expensive bottle but it adds some great color to your table and party.
After I was done setting up I decided my table needed a little extra fun. So I got out an extra Scrabble game and used the pieces to make food labels! I love this idea, and frankly I could see using it for other parties too. So creative, easy and cute!!
Dominos are a fun little game that we like to play with the kids and grandparents. I made some kid friendly Domino Rice Krispies Treats that turned out great with this game night theme. And another theme here – super easy!!
Domino Rice Krispies Treat
Simple steps – make your Rice Krispies
Treats and let cool completely. Cut into rectangles. Using black frosting create your own domino on each treat. Let frosting dry before setting out for the party.
What a fun party! I love the colors and ease of this. I cannot wait to do this Game Night Party with our family and friends again soon.
Like this idea? Think you, your family and friends would enjoy it? Pin it for later!
