How is your bracket looking? If you know what I am talking about I bet you have had the games on the TV in your house just like us. Well, on those days the kids get real upset about all the TV watching that has nothing to do with Paw Patrol! Lucky for them, they have a daddy that loves to head outside with them and shoot some hoops.
Teagan catching air has to be the cutest thing ever! We have really lucked out with some great weekend weather recently which has been great for bike riding, basketball and running around in the sun. March basketball is full force on the TV and in our driveway. It is so much fun playing with the kids and seeing them get into the basketball madness with their dad. Even though they are not real excited about watching it on TV they are really excited to be out playing. I love that!
If your kids are like ours, after an afternoon of playing basketball outside you are probably tired and sore. The kids run around us like crazy but after it both of our backs feel it. Thank you chronic back issues. This is way we always have Advil on hand – neither of us are going to let those aches and pains keep us from enjoying Jude and Teagan. Nothing’s stronger, longer lasting or better on your tough aches and pains than Advil* (*Among OTC brands).
Once we finish our time outside and get settled in for some basketball on TV we are ready for some ache and pain relief from Advil. The kids, however, are not ready to rest and certainly do not want to watch the games on TV. I had to think of something to keep the kids entertained while we got in on the basketball madness so I created a fun and easy DIY Basketball Memory Game.
Basketball Memory Game
Materials Needed:
Different colors of construction paper
Glue
Scissors
Directions:
1. Print out basketballs on plain printer paper and cut them into circles.
2. Glue 2 basketballs on each color of construction paper.
3. Cut around the basketballs making sure NONE of the colored construction paper shows.
4. When drying, place basketball cut outs in a heavy book. This keeps them from curling up when the glue is drying.
5. Once dry, simply place them on a hard surface and begin playing the traditional memory game we all love.
The kids loved these little basketballs and when we taught them the rules of the game they were even more excited. It was a great way to interact with the kids while enjoying some of the basketball games as well. Memory games are a great way to get those brains working and can be played with all ages of kids which is really great for Jude and Teagan.
Teagan would get so excited when she would match colors. This was a perfect game for the kids to play together too. This simple DIY game will give them hours of fun and I love that it is a theme with all of the month’s basketball madness going on too.
So colorful too! I love how this turned out and I have plans to make more of these. We are ready for all of the sporting events!
Once we played some Basketball Memory Game with the kids, they were ready for round two outside on the driveway! Pass me the Advil please.
Walmart is a great place to pick up any items needed for this sporting season. Make sure you pick up your Advil for all of those rough driveway pick up games with the kids! They are stronger than they look! Don’t forget to use this coupon on your next purchase too!
How are you celebrating all this basketball madness this month?

What a cute idea! My grandsons would love to make this memory game and play it!
This is such a cute idea. My boys are super into baseketball now especially with all the march maddness craziness that is happening! They would love this and it would be a great way to practice some academic skills!
I love this! What a creative idea to help your kids learn while staying with the spirit of the season! #client
This is such a simple and fun idea. I bet my dad would like to play this with the kids. He has definitely had basketball on since the very beginning of March Madness, me on the other hand… I'm fairly clueless about the whole March Madness thing.
Awww…The kids are absolutely adorable and I love the game you created. Very creative!
Advil is the only thing that works on my cramps and my daughter's cramps. Thank you for the coupon! It will come in handy. 🙂
We’re huge basketball fan and this would truly be a great idea to play. The memory game should be engaging and give the kids other things to do. I’m thinking of doing this with the kids this weekend.
What a super cute and fun idea that involves not only creativity, but brain power and family time! I am 34 years old and match games are still my favorite. I enjoy it more than the kids!
What a fun idea! this would be great for my grandsons.
OK first, love the name Taegan, my best friend has the same name so I may be biased but still I think it's the cutest. What a creative game, I love how much Dad is involved in keeping the kiddos busy
I am looking for more inside activities to do with my little guy now that I am home with him full-time. This will be a wonderful activity, except it might prompt him to ask to go back outside. LOL
This is great! Whenever I visit my brother and sister in law, they love to watch basketball. I am not such a big fan so I normally hang out and play games with my little nieces to keep them busy. This will be perfect for the little ones to play, they love memory games.
I'm not a big college basketball fan until the very end. LOL. This is such a cute idea!! I love how the whole family can do this activity! My son loves match games so we will definitely try this out.
