Jude has been in Taekwondo now for 10 months and he is really getting the hang of it.  Sure he has days that he is totally not listening to his instructor but for the most part he is focused and ready to do good forms and sparing during his practices.

About every 3 months he has the opportunity to test for the next belt.  A few weekends ago he did just that.  This marks his 3rd belt testing and he did fantastic.  He had a TON of anxiety over this test because it was his first belt test in the Tiger Leadership class rather than the regular Tiger class.  The expectations are higher and through out the weeks he worked hard in class and at home perfecting that form.

The day of the test he was nervous but he did it!  He was focused and did that form strong!  He earned that Tiger stripe orange belt and was so proud.  It is very obvious that we will be dealing with a kiddo with anxiety so seeing him be so nervous and anxious over this belt test was difficult but we all made it through.  It was a good test for us all.  We were able to create a teachable moment for him and show that he can do things he is nervous about and do them well!

A job well done deserves a special treat with daddy!  Slurpees are a favorite for Jude and Daddy to enjoy together.

Great job Jude!!  We are so proud of your new belt!!

What sporting events are you kiddos gearing up for this season?

My son cried when he started swim team and now he is winning all sorts of ribbons. Funny how things turn around and you let them explore their fears.

He is obviously so proud with that big smile…and he should be! I think it's wonderful that he is striving and doing so well. It's an excellent way to build confidence!

Childrens can gain the benefits of learning practical situations through sports activities which could help them to take right decision in tough times.
