I have never been a “bento mom” but I do love giving my kids little surprises whenever I have time with their food. Our morning routine is pretty busy and rushed so to be honest our breakfast ideas for kids are pretty plain. BUT we are a family that loves to have breakfast for dinner, which usually means I have more time to figure out some fun and creative kid friendly breakfast ideas.
Looks delicious right? Well this spread was a hit with the kids on one of the nights we decided to have breakfast for dinner – totally kid approved and parent approved too! While that cute little Ice Cream Cone Waffle looks to divine for a nutritious breakfast you are mistaken! Let me share this treat with you.
Ice Cream Cone Waffle – Creative Breakfast for Kids
Ingredients:
To make one ice cream cone you will need –
2 frozen whole wheat waffles – prepared as directed
4 ounces vanilla Greek Yogurt
1 raspberry
Handful of blueberries
Directions:
1. Place one whole prepared waffle on a plate.
2. Cut the second prepared waffle into a long triangle.
3. Spread vanilla Greek Yogurt on the “ice cream” part of the whole top waffle.
4. Place one raspberry at the very center and top of the yogurt.
5. Top yogurt with blueberries in a line.
6. Serve and enjoy!!
This idea is adorable and does not take too much time to prepare either. Honestly, the time was so worth it. The kid’s loved that they were eating ice cream for dinner! I loved that they were getting fruit, protein in the yogurt and a wholesome waffle. Mom wins!
Another way that we ensure that our kiddos are getting the very best for every meal is by incorporating NESTLÉ® Nesquik® Chocolate Powder. Our kids absolutely adore chocolate milk and by me using the NESTLÉ® Nesquik® I am able to add some extra nutritious qualities to their breakfasts, lunches and dinners. When combined with 8 ounces of low-fat milk, I am giving my kids 8g of protein that they LOVE! Nesquik® Powder has all the nutritious deliciousness kids love with 45% less sugar than the leading syrup brand and with no artificial colors or flavors. Once again, MOM WINS!
I love stirring up the imagination with my kids with these little food treats and love hearing their stories while we enjoy our meals together.
