It is finally happening! The trip is booked, plane tickets bought and plans are being made! Magic will happen for our entire family!
We are going to….
One of my dreams once I became a parent was taking my children to Disneyland with my parents. This is something that I have saved for, dreamed about, and made a promise to myself to make happen and guess what? It is going to happen in October! Just six months from now – actually less than six months now!! Yay!!!
You might be wondering why this was just a dream to make this trip with my family and my parents? My dad saw Disneyland being built as a child. He visited Disneyland right after it opened and Disneyland is the only “Disney” park that I have visited – been over 25 years but still, this was my Disney experience. It will be so magical having my dad there with his grandkids and showing them some of the original rides and of course, getting that magical family picture in front of the Mickey gardens! Cannot wait!
So far we have booked our airfare, hotel and park hopper passes – we are going to be at the park for 3 full days. So here is where I need you – I am not a Disney expert and I want to know how to get the best out of our 3 days! Keep in mind, Jude will be 6 and Teagan will be days away from turning 4. The only extra that we have bought is a character dining experience that we will need to reserve 60 days prior to the trip.
Disneyland topics I would love advice on:
- Fast Passes
- What Character Dining?
- Food in general? Where to eat?
- What to pack for our day in the park?
- What are must see attractions?
- Your favorite tips?
- Where else do we need reservations?
- Can you where costumes?
- Souvenirs or no souvenirs?
175 days until DISNEYLAND MAGIC!!!!!
We want to know it all so please! Give us those answers, tips and suggestions in the comments below. Drop your blog posts too! Thank you for your help Disney friends!!!
I can't give advice on Disneyland as I have only been once for the day. Now if you were going to Disney WOrld we could talk for hours.
I have never been to Disneyland before but I definiltey want to go. I will be following this post to see what people are saying.
That was a dream of our too. We did manage to do it twice and LOVED it both times. I know you will have a great time….there is so much to see and do. Fun for all ages.
Ah I am so excited for you, how fun!!! 🙂 This would be a dream come true for my family – maybe someday! Can't wait to follow your Disney journey!
We went a few years ago. The only thing I didn't like was we couldn't go between the two parks on the same day. We had tickets for one or the other for a whole day. My kids really liked the end of the day water show in the lagoon at DisneyLand and the Cars Radiator Springs racing ride at California Adventure. The Cars Radiator Springs racing ride has huge lines so if you can get in early admission for on property guest take advantage and go straight to it plus use your speed passes for that ride if you can. There is also an UP! wilderness obstacle course that my son really enjoyed.
When I was a baby, my parents took me to Disneyland. I certainly don't remember it, but I do remember going when I was about 10. I also remember and loved our visit to Disney world. It was so much fun. I would say to follow what your family loves. We ate when hungry, rode what we wanted and laughed and enjoyed our time together – that is what matters.
OH You know you can ask me. Costumes are an absolute, but I would have back up clothes because it can get hot and you want the kids to be comfortable. Fast passes…lets talk about this while we are in NYC 😉 So much info! I am so excited for you all!
I'm so excited for you! I've never been there, but I've been to WDW a ton. Maybe one day I'll get out there!
Disneyland is truly a magical place. One of the special parts of planning a trip to Disney is the anticipation of going. I'm sure you and your family will have a wonderful time.
My main opposition to going is the cost, but we will eventually take the trip.
Oh wow, this is going to be an awesome trip! I want to go! I've never been to Disneyland!
Have fun!!! And tell us all about your trip, please!
